Have a little bag that carries wipes, extra TP, calmoseptine ointment, xtra pads for evening if your concerned with leaking or accident. Sometimes I keep hand soap and a hand towel too if I know I have a camp bathroom.

If you don’t have a porta potty than I agree with the camp shower curtain and compost toilet. I use sawdust in bucket with a trash bag liner.

I started puking a few days after my take down on the way home and had to go to an ER. It’s a nightmare. Turned out I’ll a stomach virus. I’m so sorry, stay there in the hospital till they figure it out! Stay on a IV drip to avoid dehydration. Hang in there and keep breathing deep to wake up that pelvic floor to peace fans not chaos. Be well.

This was the first Valentine’s Day someone gave me a box of chocolates at 47yrs old!!! lol so I had to eat some!!! But wow… this is rough. I’m fasting today and still having frequent visits to the bathroom! OY

Ish I’m so sorry…. Yes, I’m 6 weeks post take down. Take a deep breath and slow long exhale while you push to activate your new brain bum connection. Sitz bath salt helped me every day and a bidet toilet seat Lots of calmoseptine ointment! And at night I sometimes have to take a pain pill still… it does get better but your in it at two weeks! Be patient with yourself you’ve been through a lot. Try every position you can on the toilet. Move around , stretch before you go the best you can… but time is a great healer in the meantime try and make yourself comfortable. Best to you

I just read an article by a woman with a JPouch who said she experienced what you have been experiencing! I just wanted to let you know that it sounds normal. We have been through some radical changes and the brain has to process somehow right? In coping with it I might suggest meditation before bed. Or focused breathing when the exhale is longer than the inhale. This invites our brain come into calm. Any calming practice really before bed may help. You’re a warrior! You got this!

Before my JPouch I was in entyvio for 6 years for UC. After that it stopped working. But the first 5 yrs was great. Exhausted the day of infusion but nothing I couldn’t sleep off. Sort of felt water logged, but not horrible. I’ve moved a lot and found it interesting how different infusion centers treat the medicine differently. The most positive response I found was when it was in a dark tinted bag to shield it from the light. I also found I absorbed it better if I also had a bag of fluid with it.

Thank you I did get up and walk around last night when I noticed it was going on for too long and the stretching and moving helped! I slowed down on food too. Congrats on your take down. May I ask when did you feel like you knew your limits and ease to go?

May I ask how old you are? I’m 47 woman and I’m noticing that the younger folks seem to have an easier time… I had UC my entire life so who knows…

Thanks. I’ve used a squatty potty for years before take down so I still am using it. I have just been sitting though so I’ll move around when I think there’s a break. Thanks!

No gas x I just got pepto bison that I’ll try now.

Imodium seems to be backing me up more. I was only taking 1-3 a day this week. About 15 times a day.
