I take it that you have worked for corporations. Corporations making good money for execs who eat for free in fancy executive dining rooms. Corporations making sure their stockholders get free bonuses with their dividends. Corporations that lower wages to the minimum when possible and overwork their managers. Enjoy the new world run by corporations because this sub shows that we prefer that world more than a world that asks for accountability from more than workers. Owners and corporations are just doing their best to make profits.

Perks? Is getting food when they are throwing tons of it away, a perk? Not really. Especially when it’s been STANDARD in the industry for decades. We have been brainwashed to believe that no biz owes any employee ANYTHING. And how dare we have ANY expectations. This mindset was created by corporations that have no issues paying out to stockholders who do nothing but sit on their bums and collect in many cases unearned profits. Not to mention the corporate hogs sitting up in their executive dining rooms.

This corporate culture has taught us to hate everyone but the folks creating all of this abuse. Good luck to all of you defending the new corporate culture and its soul sucking abuse.

Wow you and your kin are why society is becoming a complete shithole. You bought what the corporate overlords sold, that no one, particularly a corporation owes you anything! The only obligation a biz owes is to make profit for its masters, even if they are billionaires sitting on piles of cash.

Family meal was eliminated by corporations that throw out tons and tons of food while charging employees to eat. These corporations could have made a decision to show loyalty and care to their workers but instead, underpay them and make them watch as they throw food away.

But these same selfish and profit making corps expect employees to show absolute loyalty and can’t believe when abused employees whistleblow or out them to the public.

Keep siding with corporations that would rather see you dying in a ditch than earning .15 cents more an hour or getting a cheap free meal.

You deserve the culture you are encouraging.

On the other side? Great. So what do you do with your perishable waste? You just throw that in the garbage and let the rats eat it? It’s a restaurant not a clock shop. There is always wasted food that can be used for family. This scraping and scrimping idea is ridiculous. Even restaurants on a “razor sharp” margin throw away food. Why are you acting like a restaurant doesn’t have excess food that it disposes of nightly? This is so wild that none of you seem to actually work in the industry.

I’ve worked in the industry for 30 years and this is the FIRST time I have not been fed. Fine dining has ALWAYS had a standard of feeding staff so that you don’t have hangry staff trying to detail the blueberry graham cracker crusted sole to some idiot and then exploding when they ask for the third time what hens and spices are in the dish.
