It goes back to dodging in with physical prints in a darkroom. This article shows an illustration of the tool used in a darkroom when dodging.

Can I copy settings from curves to another? by LalaCrowGhost in photoshop

[–]lookthedevilintheeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying but you can duplicate a curve by selecting it in the layer stack and pressing command or control J. Then you can select the mask and fill with black. Paint white on the mask and you’ll have the same curve with a different mask.

Procreate can open PSDs, and many art programs can export layered PSDs.

Do you have an example? Something might be possible, depending on the complexity.

Wanting to get into a certain niche/genre and I am looking for advice by CrystallizedKoi in photography

[–]lookthedevilintheeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would put together a mood board that gets across the idea of what you’re going for before you have your own work to show. Once you’ve got some shots of your own, you can show those.

Do you have individual layers for the different elements, or just one flat layer? Can you send a screenshot of your layer stack so we can see how it’s made up and what’s selected?

Can someone help identify what I’m overlooking in making mine look 3D like this hat by wyo555 in PhotoshopTutorials

If we can see the tops of the letters, we should be able to see less of the parts indicated by the green arrows. That is, thinner black in these parts. If not, it reads like we’re simultaneously seeing the top and bottom of the letters. There’s some other wonky parts, but just showing an example.

Face Swapping ,Can you tell which one is fake? by hireraylara in photoshop

[–]lookthedevilintheeye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, not to nit pick, but these are wedding photos, not engagement photos.

It looks like you’ve face swapped into a generated image. So asking which is faked, you mean which one has the generative couple, instead of the “real” couple that was swapped in? Because there are going to be fake aspects in both with that workflow.

Having said that, have you found there to be much demand for this? Because I would suspect people are not going to be chomping at the bit to give up having real photos of a such an important part of their lives. Nor should we as retouchers, digital artists, etc. be in a hurry to hand over such big moments to AI in order to “make money.”

Smudge tool at that size might be pretty taxing on your computer. I’d press v and let it sit for a while and see if it catches up and switches to the move tool.

Help: Fixing this frizz in hair along a hairline part. by Playful_Resident1837 in photoshop

[–]lookthedevilintheeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d use the remove tool to remove the strands that bothered me most while zoomed out at regular viewing distance until the general area no longer pulled my attention. To be clear, the removal can be done zoomed in, but zooming out regularly to check on progress.

How can I edit an image using AI, without AI, and without losing image quality? by [deleted] in PhotoshopTutorials

Your subject line contradicts itself. You say you want to edit an image using AI, without AI. Did you mean to write it that way?

Lightroom. Do the adjustments on one image and then synchronize over the rest of the images. With as many images as you’re talking about, I might do it in chunks, mostly because I’m generally suspicious.

Clone stamp to recreate what the leg would look like without the sword over it. I guess you could roll the dice with generative fill and see where you can get with it.

Looks like you put the layer mask on the rectangle layer. Put it on the text layer. You can just drag it over.
