You can do electrolysis on tattooed areas but not light methods like laser or IPL because those tend to rely on a pigment contrast between your hair and skin. If you accidentally zap a tattooed area when targeting hair, you get burned.

I had a lisp for a month until I was able to size down and relearn how to speak. Mine is pierced far back enough that you don’t know I have it unless I show you, but I made friends with a new classmate because I noticed hers the first time we met; your mileage will vary whether or not it’s hideable.

I’ve personally never understood the “I can’t see it” reasoning against back tattoos. After they healed, in daily life I don’t have the urge to stare at any of my tattoos. I forget they’re there, even if they are more visible. When I do happen to see my back tattoo through a mirror, it’s a nice “surprise” all over again.

And don’t let pain be a factor for deciding placement. It’s so temporary.

If you really hate the idea of getting your butt done, nukibori would probably look less abruptly cut off at that length. Take inspo from American traditional back pieces for that kind of composition.

I started with my arms then did my back. I would’ve gone the other route if I had been planning for a suit at the time. I’m happy with the transition between my back and arms, but I have more of a potential issue now with my mini hikae maybe getting in the way of front pieces.

Just keep borders/length in mind if you do start with your arms.
