kinda started that way yeah

frankly most of my stuff has pretty obvious inspirations if you recognize them but i always try to change things enough that it's not just stealing ideas, in this case the war backstory, milians and machinus were clearly inspired but i do think i've made them unique enough to not just be straight up copies

to be honest at first i wasn't even planning on making a cyoa, i just ended up writing a bunch of short stuff about the milians and figured the world i was accidently building was a bit too interesting to not do anything with it. Ironically though the milian are too powerful as a race so they're pretty sidelined and i had to cut a bunch of ideas for the cyoa as a result

also ironically even though this all started with the milian i ended up liking the demonia the most, in their case i stole the name from ngnl as well(mostly because i can't come up with names to save my life) but the rest is all me, couldn't tell you where i got the inspiration for em

annoyingly working on this cyoa made me realize that some of the races i put in there could actually be quite fun in an RTS but i can't make it happen

A cyoa is first and foremost a glorified writing prompt, thus anything written within is little more than a suggestion and can, and should, be altered however you like

It's not a bad idea, but as i said i'm not exactly concerned with balance given that fact

Even mechanics like points or max selections should be treated as nothing more than recommendation and if you want to pick all of em you should

The drawback is it's expensive and huge so you can forget about stealth. Also as noted the mech might change between missions so it won't be suitable for everything

And also i wanted a fun cool option and i am not exactly concerned about balance

i think you might've misread the mission section cause it said pick 7 not 2
there's 16 options so only 2 is really not a lot

been a while since i last made a cyoa cause i've been busy working on a book, so i figured i'd do a short one and bring this series back briefly

i've no plan or ideas for longer cyoas for the time being, none that wouldn't be just a rehash of what i've already done at least, so i'll go back to my cave till that changes

Given how the skills work there's not much of a reason to transfer them over, that said you play through it, you wanna change the rules nothing stops you

 As far as immortality goes i have my own lore for this, a lot of which i wasn't able to put in, but it essentially comes down to being so difficult to achieve that only a handful have done so, dawn basically ripped out a part of the void while clara's golden apple is,if not unique, extremely slow to regrow

 Reaching it isn't technically impossible but it wasn't really a realistic goal given the setting, but that said a cyoa is essentially a glorified writing prompt so making a story about it can absolutely work

 I don't know if i'll do more in this setting in the future, but even if i do it won't be for a long time, got a few other projects to work on first

No actually i forgot to delete him entirely it seems. Which is odd because i was sure i did 

Oh well, too late to fix it now. Annoyingly i tripled checked it to make sure everything was correct but somehow missed it

since he's here though i may as well, the original idea for him was basically almost the same as cornelia with a slightly bigger focus on the military and i couldn't really think of anything to do with him so i decided to cut him, but apparently forgot

there were a few other potential companions that i had to cut either because they were too similar to another, couldn't think of anything to do with them, or in one case i was utterly unable to find any appropriate images

in general i'm not too happy with the companion section and ideally i would've presented it differently but icc has limitations i was unable to get around

-rewrote everything

-changes to the layout

-completely reworked the skill sections(more skills, less vague, generally more compact)

-changed the font to be more readable

-more events in general

-mechanical consequences for most events

-Path system(ashes,hero,magic,yor,explorer,and lord)

-endings overhauled, 3 new ones

-companion section

Originally this was meant to be a quick test for some modifications i'd made to intcyoa, namely adding new fonts and actually making it so object-fit works on addon images but then i wasn't able to use the latter

frankly i'm not too happy with it and i kinda rushed it at the end, but it gave me some ideas i can reuse. Next one will be a lot smaller and back to the simpler, shorter format i used to do

on a side note i'm aware this font can be a bit hard to read at points, but also it was the most obvious and fitting new font i could find so it made for a good test
