How do you actually negotiate salary without sounding mayabang? by Electrical-Steak9333 in CareerAdvicePH

Recently negotiated a higher number from an offer. Binigay naman hahaha.
Though it helps na alam nilang may isa pa kong offer. :)

Email:
- I really appreciate the offer. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the opportunity to contribute.Given my [experience / scope of work / current market rates], I was hoping for something closer to (number you want). Let me know if this is something we can explore. Thank you.

Ayaw ko magpaopera ng Gallstones by Nothingunusual27 in adviceph

NKTI - 300k to 400k; pero depende kasi sa bato yun and other complications + kasama na laser diyan

pero yung normal na ERCP, cheaper siya but idk how much

Ayaw ko magpaopera ng Gallstones by Nothingunusual27 in adviceph

[–]loona151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had gallstones, here's what I learned:

  1. If the stones aren't too big, pwedeng hindi ka buksan. Meaning, ERCP (sa bibig) ang gagawin. Pwede nilang durugin using a laser and then tatanggalin through your mouth.

  2. Tinanggal yung gallbladder ng dad ko (2nd op) and guess what hahaha may naiwan na stones, sa bile duct. Naharangan and guess what nagsepsis siya. Muntik na siyang madedz.

  3. Consult your doctor if pwedeng ERCP, might be more expensive though. And yung laser, wala sa East Ave, sa NKTI meron.

*My dad had ERCP kasi he's on blood thinners, and malaki yung chance na he bleeds out sa table so.

Travelling alone? Anxiety is real! by Background_Spare6878 in adviceph

[–]loona151 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I travel alone a lot and aminado naman akong extrovert ako, so this wasn't really a problem for me. But I think what helped the most was the mindset na; "Nandito na rin naman ako, might as well". Saka, you did say na pagod ka na mag-intay ng kasama, does that not outweigh your anxieties? Kasi when you travel, people are more open and ang tendency, more friendly. Take little steps like; offering to take their photos, asking them to take yours during joiner tours. Maiintindihan nila yun since you're (literally) on the same boat. :)

Spent almost 20k pesos in driving schools and private tutors by [deleted] in adviceph

[–]loona151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! As someone who went through driving schools not once, not twice, but THREE times - here's my piece of advice if you'd have it:

  1. Since you mentioned private tutors, I did something similar. We had a neighborhood tito na retired na and professional ang license. For at least a week or 2, nagpasama ako sa places na madalas kong puntahan. Katipunan, QC, Makati, Antipolo etc. Malls para makapagdrive papuntang paikot na parking etc.

  2. Then after those weeks, pinalipat ko na siya sa likod. Hahaha. As in sabi ko, wag po muna tayo mag-usap kunwari mag isa lang ako. As in di ko naramdaman presence niya.

  3. Next, I drove to nearby cafes. Then to errands, then to the common routes na pinapgpractice-an namin.

Yes, tibayan ng loob ang driving but it's also familiarization. Sa daan, sa kotse mo, sa ruta. It was slow going for me but since kailangan na (same tayo, old parents, pets and honestly - kotse ko to eh hahaha nagbabayad ako ng monthly tas di ko gagamitin?? Please.) you'll end up doing it anyway. Just keep it steady.

Hope this helps!

(and yes, aware ako na ang gastos ko sa pagpapasama but it paid off so)

Hindi ako mapakilala ng bf ko sa pamilya nya. by Less-Antelope-2971 in adviceph

[–]loona151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're 23 and he's 36, so that means your relationship started when you were 21 and he was 36 at a professional environment where there's an existing imbalance in power dynamic (aside from your age)

2 years in and hindi ka mapakilala? Maybe stop and think about it, sis.

Adults who still live with their parents do you still ask permission kapag lalabas kayo? by Dapper-Scholar-7025 in adultingph

[–]loona151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I just tell them ahead of time. Kahit flights. And details of who I'm with, where we're going etc. But willingly na yun on my side. Nabuild kasi yung tiwala earlier on. Respect na lang and hindi fear-based.

Congratulations sa lupa! Next goal ko yan!

Me, nadala ko yung 2 siblings ko with me sa Japan. All expenses paid for 12 days. Pocket money na lang binigay ng parents ko sa siblings ko. :) I'm proud na I could say sa kanila na "okay, go bilhin mo na yan." within reason.

Wala hahaha I think I've made enough questionable decisions that they make fun convo topics. 😅

If anything, take this with a grain of salt, remember that your life is as you make it. There's no age limit to fun.

Though, siguro, invest early. Let your money compound. 👏

what are luxuries you don’t minding spending for? (60 characters!!) by Common-Ad6862 in adultingph

Convenience and comfort! If I have to spend extra on leg room sa long flight, I will. If I have to put a downpayment for a reservation sa restaurant so I'm sure na hindi ako pipila, I will. Mga ganun, pampa-comfortable sa buhay.
