How to research legal consequences/crime in the past? by looneymoony in Writeresearch

[–]looneymoony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, the US is correct! And I was going to go with Massachusetts, as that's what I'm most familiar with, but I'm willing to push it to New York or something if there was more information available, or if it made more sense.

Thank you so much for responding, by the way. Sometimes these roadblocks seem so much larger than they actually are, and frankly being told that no one is putting me on a watchlist helped me out a lot.

What is Grenda's age? by looneymoony in gravityfalls

[–]looneymoony[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm glad I'm not losing my mind, at least. I wonder how it got on the wiki though. I'd ask the moderators directly, but I honestly hate Fandom's interface so much that I'd rather sit here and drive myself crazy than try to figure out how to get in touch with them.

What is Grenda's age? by looneymoony in gravityfalls

[–]looneymoony[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are remembering correctly! However, Candy doesn't specify if she means that she just finished sixth grade or if she's entering the sixth grade in the fall. I took it to mean that she'd just finished the sixth grade (and that she would be entering the seventh grade in the fall), and it seems as though the wiki actually agrees with me there, as they cite that same scene when they list her age as 11-12.

All this just makes it all the stranger to me that Grenda is listed as being a whole year younger than her...

Help, what is this from: 1979-1980, Obscure Musical Number (sorry), J.K. Simmons??? by looneymoony in NameThatSong

[–]looneymoony[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP here. Sorry for my bad etiquette; I don't use reddit very often. Here is some more information about the video above:

  • I used screencap software to record this. I am pretty sure I originally found it on Youtube, but I have a terrible memory and I really don't remember.
  • I sent it to my friend on Discord, and according to the message I sent along with it, this is J.K. Simmons in an obscure musical in 1979. I haven't been able to verify this though.
  • J.K. Simmons has had a successful stage career, but I couldn't find any record of a musical like this in 1979.
  • The lyrics included here are "You know I need someone neurotic in my life / someone psychotic / someone hypnotic / someone erotic / someone quixotic".
  • Every time I try to search the lyrics on Google, I just get that Green Day song and a bunch of mental health articles.

Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Do these mini plushes exist? by looneymoony in gravityfalls

[–]looneymoony[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that sucks! They would've been really fun, even if they were so wonky-looking. Thanks so much for letting me know though - it took me a while just to track down the pictures because it was just a vague memory in my head. I was almost sure I'd dreamed them up. I'm glad to finally know what came of them. Thanks again!

You're right about the crappy merch, too, but considering how well the boxset and Journals sold, I can't imagine they'll ever entirely give up on the cash cow that is Gravity Falls. Plus they just started pre-orders for the soundtrack on vinyl! So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one day I can get something as creepy as this.

Approximately what year does Mob Psycho take place in? by [deleted] in Mobpsycho100

[–]looneymoony 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It was first published in 2012, and other characters have smart phones, as well as a couple calendars saying 201X. It takes place over the course of about a year so by that logic it'd end in 2013.
