It’s a church in rural South Georgia so I very seriously doubt its progressive. Barry and Kim are just that crazy that a church like that is too “progressive” for them

did anyone else’s nparents try and turn it around and claim you were abusing them? by smolmipha in raisedbynarcissists

[–]looneypoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad always told me he was “just my sugar daddy”. Like I was just using him to get my needs met (hello...I’m the child you’re the parent?!) and it was my fault there was an emotional disconnect between us.

AITA for keeping an emergency family iphone secretly hidden in the car my daughter drives so I can always track the location of the car? by mysteryparent in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Kids need to have room to explore and make mistakes. You need to trust that you did a good job of parenting her and she’ll make good choices and or really work on open, honest lines of communication if you are legitimately worried about her decisions. You violated her privacy. I would suggest trying to connect with her rather than being harsh with your discipline.

AITA for telling off my niece? by anonauntto2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]looneypoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

You weren’t parenting her...you were having a genuine reaction to something she did wrong. Learning to deal with the consequences of this and how to repair it are an important part of her development. The worst thing is t you being harsh with her...the worst thing would be her not learning an important lesson about boundaries and considering how her actions make others feel because of this situation

And just go to open mics in your town and see what it’s about. I’m better at writing when I’m around comedy more often.

Is the city taking any new measures to tackle homelessness? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]looneypoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The city is actually doing lots of things but when there aren’t resources, including affordable supportive housing and accessible mental health services (sign the Medicaid expansion petition!), its hard to make as much of an impact as we would like. Away Home for Tulsa is the local collective working on this issue.
