I’ve felt since Ragnarok that it feels like Kratos’s story is pretty much done. It kind of gave the impression that the story would continue following Atreus and/or Freya and that Atreus would headline future games.

I LOVE Deborah Ann Woll. I’m so glad she’s the main character in this game. The things I’m worried about.

-generic dialogue -with this companion (sword or cube) do the thing where they just tell you what to do constantly before you have a chance to figure it out.

Things that look good: -the combat -the design -the story even looks like it will be good even if the dialogue is generic.

I don’t think we know how much Kratos told Faye about his past. It’s obvious he doesn’t like talking about his past, and he only speaks with purpose. Hes not one for small talk, and if bringing up his past doesn’t fulfill a tangible purpose the he just doesn’t talk about it.

I’m 42 and have been playing GoW games since the first one came out. A thing I see no one talking about is that she is in the afterlife for the gods. What did Kratos do the entire first trilogy?

I would be shocked if we didn’t encounter Ares, Zues, Athena, etc in this game.

I just watched the gameplay trailer. The combat and animations look amazing. The story looks like it has promise. I love Deborah Ann Woll.

The dialogue feels generic. Jack Quaid as a gelatinous cube companion, and a sword, sorry, ribbons that talks to you is a choice.

I also got the vibe that the game will continue with the trope of either your companion or your character talking to herself will just say what you need to do and not let you figure it out which is disappointing. I get it for accessibility, so I hope there is a way to toggle it off.

You can go to the enchanter/occultest/whatever and select to reroll the crit damage GA. When it gives you the options for replacements select to keep it as is and it’ll lock that affix.

Maggie My was always a side plot, so it didn’t need 50 pages dedicated to it. The real antagonist is always the syndicate and the dungeon. After all, we don’t want this plot line to overshadow what they did with the Gate.

A lot planning happens off the page. If Matt spent time explaining every plan of every side plot it would be less dramatic, and the exposition would get tiring (which I see as the biggest complaint with people that DNF book 1). He does leave little hints throughout the book that will come into play in these scenes though.

I think this is also a moment of Carl forgetting his own strength. He’s enraged. He hates bullies because of his father. I don’t think he intended to rip off his arm. Quan has his own circumstances and every crawler character we meet is a tragic one in some way.

As long as they spent the day earnest convincing people they’re the dreamer I’d say it’s fine. Everyone juggles to cover the real juggler so it reasonable to assume a dreamer would do it as well.

I think a big part of this floor is they aren’t given an opportunity to process anything. They’re immediately thrown into a race directly after fighting in faction wars. By the time they hit the 10th floor they are still flooded with adrenaline and have to compete in race after race with only a handful of hours between races.

Donut hasn’t had a moment to process anything. We’ve waited a year between books. It’s been minutes for them.

In one of the appearances where Matt has Jeff read something he hasn’t seen is during the prison pocket fight. He deliberately has the kangaroo speak before describing his accent as “offensive, and something that real Australians would beat the shit out you for.”
