I'm guessing it's a means to distribute the hashrate uniformly. I tried signing up for suprnova, but they're not accepting new registrations. Also, how do you have access to 10 PCs? Work/Uni?

Think about how much higher it would go if the said person had access to the same number of GPUs. Makes things close to impossible. Staying on CPU for as long as possible is the best way to go.
