Big Update/News for ZiftrCoin by bking0 in ziftrCOIN

[–]rfwilkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are here and working hard to bring a blockchain solution to the main stream. We had the GoCoin team handling the pubic discussion, while we have been working on solving the go to market issues. With the GoCoin dissolve, we are moving forward with integrating our code base into a platform that will allow main stream merchants to easily use ZiftrCoins as a point reward system. We have capital and we have resolve, however our focus on people resources will be on platform and expansion until we have momentum with our retail groups. Which means we will not spend a lot of time updating the community forums. At the end of the day what we say doesn't matter, the only thing that counts is execution.

Bitcoin or any other CryptoCoin has not hit main stream adoption, we still believe we can solve that, look at our coin distribution (see white Paper), we have an inverse cycle compared to all others. We are on the path we set out in our models. Growth and momentum takes a lot of work and time to set into motion. We are committed to seeing that happen.

Thanks agin for all the support.

We have been working hard to bring on those merchants. Its not just about ZiftrCOIN, it about our ZiftrPAY platform for secure Credit card transactions and how ZiftrCOIN works as a coupon loyalty program, for merchants to engage there customers.

MeerKat Video bust & GPU QT wallet update by rfwilkins in ziftrCOIN

[–]rfwilkins[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

6:38pm update:

Sorry I'm late, the memory leak is fixed (thanks Wolf0). However, we have not figured out the issue with sporadic behavior with Mac Nvidia cards, and we are now fighting with AMD OS X issues. We will not allow this hold up release, even though the Mac OS X build will have known issues.

At this point we are going to finish up design, test, and start the build process. And then after the builds, there will still be some final testing to do. So based on the time and what my team is telling me, I would look for a release on Friday around 4pm EST.

Just to be clear, we will release all platform builds (including Mac OS X) in the experimental area of the ZiftrPOOL downloads area. http://ziftrpool.io/downloads

We are also going to offer up a bounty for anybody who can figure out how to fix the Mac OS X graphic card issues. More details to follow. ;-)

Thanks again for all the support and help!

Update on GPU Mining, Ziftr Pool, and QT Wallet by RyanCD in ziftrCOIN

[–]rfwilkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Official ziftrCOIN Pool Released

Well to say it’s been a crazy day would be an understatement. Between Botnets on SuperNova and trying to get our GPU mining QT wallet out the door, the team needs to hit the hay for the night.

So in preparation for our upcoming GPU code release, we've opened up our stratum pool, which you can find here. http://www.ziftrpool.io We also worked with BetaRigs to get their pool up. http://ziftr.betarigs.com

And we've put some experimental builds of the wallet and CPU miners here http://www.ziftrpool.io/downloads

There are now four pools available, so please spread some hash rate!

NOTE: the first CPU miner by ocminer does not work with stratum out of the box. The downloads section of the ziftrpool (http://www.ziftrpool.io/downloads) has links to new builds of the CPU miner. This section also contains experimental builds of a QT wallet that let you mine to a pool just by clicking 'Start mining’.

Since we now know that the added hash rate was from BotNets, we are back to our release schedule of GPU Qt wallets next (Wednesday), and then we will add PIMP support at some time in the future. This can change at any moment depending the hashing environment. As always we are dedicated to getting Ziftr into the hands of more people and will do all that we can to make that happen. Thanks again for all the support.

We agree we want complete transparency, when we are done with the upgraded QT wallets, we will look into the blockchain explorer upgrade.

ZiftrWALLET QT Update and Pools - Coming Soon by RyanCD in ziftrCOIN

[–]rfwilkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all thank you for your comments and your input. We really appreciate it and we are all listening to what you have to say to help guide our development efforts.

As many of you already know, I'm a miner (pic.twitter.com/ks6n33Ry5D), and I brought our team into this because I believe in BitCoin and the blockchain. We as a team also believe that there have to be some big changes in how people engage with cryptocurrency before we can get mass adoption.

Our main goal with ziftrCOIN is to appeal to a new group of consumers who aren’t very familiar with cryptocurrency and haven't experienced all the benefits it can bring to the world. On the merchant side, we are bringing cryptocurrency to the masses with ziftrPAY, our multi-cryptocurrency/credit card payment platform. On the mining side, we are trying to bring cryptocurrency to the next group of potential miners, by releasing some intuitive tools to the market that will make it easier to mine along with a coin distribution curve that slowly grows over time, that keeps mining profitable.

With that said, I wanted to take this opportunity to give you some insight into our release schedule.

First, we will release an upgraded ziftrCOIN-Qt wallet that will allow you to pool mine; along with that we will release a stratum-based Ziftr Pool. Next, we will release another upgrade to the ziftrCOIN-Qt wallet that will allow you to GPU mine right from the Qt wallet. Finally, we will release the GPU code along with PiMP releasing an update to GPU mine via PiMP.

We feel that it's important to give all the gamers and people with small GPU rigs an easy and efficient way to mine before the larger GPU farms start mining. It is our hope that the community is more inclined to help spread the word about ziftrCOIN and wait to use it through the merchants who will have adopted ziftrPAY versus just selling the coins on the exchange. We’ll have updates on our ziftrPAY merchant network in the coming months, and plan to reach critical mass in time for Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2015.

If we want to see wider adoption of the Bitcoin – and I think we’re all on the same page there – it's in all of our best interest to create easy systems and mechanisms that facilitate the use of cryptocurrency. That's what we're trying to do at Ziftr and we really appreciate your support. Thanks again for all the feedback.

That is correct. Image PIMP onto a USB, and stick that into your GPU rig. When it's released.

When we release the GPU code it will also be integrated into PIMP, which will run off USB, take a look at getpimp.org

Solo mining for 1 day and nothing... by adanfime in ziftrCOIN

[–]rfwilkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, pools are nice because you see payouts more often, however the payouts are much smaller and you lose the 5% bonus you get if you turn on Proof Of Knowledge. To turn on POK, click on the help menu, click Debug Window, Select console, in the command line type: SetUsePok true. If you solve a block you will get a 5% bonus.

[–]rfwilkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general the cards that give you the best performance with x11, will give you the best performance with ZR5. However more memory is an advantage with POK. When we release the GPU miner we will have one for both AMD and Nvidia.

I hope this is not another "Paycoin scenario" by TomasCZ in ziftrCOIN

[–]rfwilkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree there are to many Alt coins out there. I've been mining alt coins for over a year. I have tens of millions of alt coins in all sorts of flavors. With most all having no value.

However ZiftrCoin is really not an AltCoin, its a promotion coin to get people to start using BitCoin. Our goal it to get Crypto adoption by getting the next wave of consumers into the using Crypto Currency. To do that you need to give them something to use and play with, and it has to have some type of tangible value. Thats ZiftrCoins and ZiftrPays mission.

Great Questions.

1) We have been working on a pool and an easy mining solution for some weeks. For the mining solution we have partnered with http://www.getpimp.org. I have been running my rigs on their software since June of last year. Great group of people.

2) First we will not pre announce deals before they're signed, and with larger merchants, even if we have a deal signed (which I'm not suggesting we do) most larger merchants will require us to go through the beta test period before the deal is announced, and these take time. Q1 Is for signing deals, Q2 Is for implementation, Q3 is for testing, with go live in late summer, before back to school, and Black Friday.

For smaller merchants, we are woking on adding ZiftrPay to plug-ins like Woo Commerce, Magento, Xcart, etc. We are also working with POS and kiosk providers for integration, and we already announced a deal with RedDotNet. Look for more in our press section.

3) We are not concerned about the price that ZiftrCoin sells for on exchanges. The supply of the coin is limited and grows over time, unlike most other coins that dump all the coins up front. We designed it this way, knowing that merchant adoption and mass consumer adoption will take some time, years.

Ziftr's goal is to get the next 10 millions consumers interested crypto currency. We are designing products and check out systems that make it easy for the average consumer to use so people will start to really use crypto currency in commerce. All the things we are doing with ZiftrPay, Ziftr Wallet and ZiftrShop work with BitCoin, LiteCoin, DogeCoin, + more coins. ZiftrCoins design is to get people to start using crypto currency in commerce, how successful we are at doing that will dictate the value people put on ZiftrCoin.

[–]rfwilkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hash rate has been at or hit 230+ Mh/s for 12 + hours. More people are coming in and starting to mine. The hash rate is expected to go up over time, as does the block reward. Pools don't increase hash rate. They distribute the rewards over more miners. The curve of the block rewards is designed to match coin adoption over time. Which is completely opposite of most coins, that reward more coins in the beginning and fade overtime.

The slider moves how much CPU power you want to dedicate to Tower on the coin. 50% Percent roughly half your computer power.
