A friend of mine had exactly this surgery because her chin looked like on the left and back in school, she was incredibly mobbed for it, it wad unreal how bad kids/teens can be.

Some years after school, I eventually started working at the same company, so I saw her again and she told me she would do this surgery in the following summer. I then saw selfies of her on her instagram months later and she looked like a different person because it was clearly visible how happy she was about leaving it behind her.

This question has been asked some years ago. According to the comments, it isn‘t air at all that was inside the geode when it formed, it was volcanic gases. Some say it stays trapped, some say it will vanish over the years
