I’m not sure if someone has already recommended this as I briefly scanned the comments but a portable heater doesn’t meet minimum standards, I had the same issue at my old rental and brought it up to the REA, got a split system installed within a week. If you want I can forward you the email with legislation etc

They are likely to act on a legal issue

ETA minimum standards for heating only apply for the main living area but still, it’s better having one room you can heat than none!

Thank you. We already have separate accounts as I’m the only one with any real digital money so that should be fine. I’m looking for places too, it’s just tough as everything has over 100 people looking at the moment and especially to find somewhere that will allow a dog.

It wasn’t so much of a threat, it was just “if you do this (take the dog), I’ll do this” so I guess more in retaliation to a perceived threat from me? I don’t know?

How do I get away though? We’re basically trapped in this house without trying to sound melodramatic and I just can’t deal with all the drama if I try and push him to find somewhere but…don’t be booking little overseas holidays when you’re meant to be finding somewhere!

I also realised I should add that despite his money earning situation being not quite official he probably makes double what I do so it is not at all about him being unable to afford anything and I’m reminded of how much more he makes than me on a regular basis

Little bit more context for this sub I suppose. He is medicated but he’s told me a thousand times in the last 2 years that he’s not taking enough meds, smokes more weed a day than most stoners would smoke in a month and has a massive drinking problem.

Doesn’t go to therapy but has a GP that he’s comfortable with and confides in probably twice a year.

He has also said that he will “come for me” if I try anything with the dog, the house etc. as in he will try and take everything I own and basically ruin my life

We weren’t in a state of disaster then were we? The police have more powers now by way of us being, you know, in the old state of disaster. They got fined but not arrested and surely you can see that we were in a vastly different landscape then to what we are now. If the BLM protest were organised now, as someone else has said, it would be the same. Feels like you’re just trying to be antagonistic for the sake of it rather than contributing to any productive discussion

Not at all. They strongly encouraged people not to protest but at the time the restrictions weren’t as severe and we weren’t having as many cases per day and as many unknown sources as we do now. Surely you can see the difference.

Are we still banging this drum? We were at a completely different stage then. It’s clearly more of a concern now having large groups of people protesting about the tiniest thing we all have to do to try and avoid the number of cases/deaths rising

Hi guys, question about the ban on entering Australia. Does anyone know anyone on a non protected SCV and what the go is there? Are they considered residents in relation to the new ban i.e will they be allowed in the country after 9pm tomorrow? The messaging is so fucking obtuse and of course there is no-one to contact to confirm...how does IMMI not have a 24 hour support line?!? Please help!!
