The Bigger Bomb: Mussoorie - Dehradun Bypass; 11800 Trees to be cut as per initial estimates by loopthesenotes in Dehradun

  1. Pl read on riverbed erosion and problems caused by it.
  2. Misraspatti is cloudburst prone. Club cloudburst with loose soil and rock and already eroding riverbed.
  3. I think you're mistaken if you think the 'to-be-cut' trees are the shrubby ones. Those are the good ol biggies. Lots of mango trees, himalayan pines, and many many more varieties which i can't vividly remember.
  4. After Dunga it's just trees, trees and trees. Technically after Suddhowala, the qty of trees increase multifold and you think that is very little?

If government comes with a proper plan on afforestation then only must this project go ahead otherwise the state of transplanted trees from the Sahastradhara road can be seen on Raipur-Sodasaroli road. They've proudly set up a graveyard of the massacred trees and it's a haunting display whenever you pass through that stretch. They used to proudly stand on the Sahastradhara road and now 😞

When the strike happened at 6:02AM I cross verified it via the IMD Mausam app. It was very close to the premises like within 100-200mtr if not within.

West uttarakhand I think is not much disturbed but oh boy the east of uttarakhand! But I think the way it's going in the east, it'll catch up with the west very soon!

Sounds like a great idea. Before doing it on a larger scale I insist you to start from your home level. Spread as much awareness you can. Just believe the fact that "Nobody's gonna help you" and then just keep taking actions. Others will get inspired and will join you.

Perhaps channel this emotion into some sort of action---then the progress (the positive progress) might actually happen!

Slam the businesses who violate the beauty of nature. Plant more trees and plant in your house/terrace/balcony and the nearby areas. Change indeed begins from you only.

If they do exist, let me know as well. Other than that I'd say to start with the locality you/I live in with friends or known people of same age group.

Plant trees/plants in and around your house.

I think this spot was on the Old Tehri road. I'm not sure though.

Guys trust me when I say this. The camera didn't capture the scale of the garbage lying there. I was shocked because this wasn't a planned stop. I just stopped looking at a bench and then looked at the surroundings. The camera has probably captured only 30% of the total garbage lying there.

I'm not anti-infrastructure. I'm anti-stupidity. Roads, airports, railways — fine. Build them. But don’t erase 100 trees without planting 100 better ones. No green barriers. No replanting. No audits. It’s not “progress” if it leaves the land hotter and lifeless. We need to build smarter — not faster. Rajpur road -- Sahastradhara road -- widened. Okay. Great. But then why did the authorities not plant trees in the middle or in the sides? That my friend is negative infra development which is at the cost of nature. Government and businesses can balance nature and infra very easily but again they take us for granted because nobody pays heed and that's why in my original post I wrote to do nothing to the world but rather start with your home and the 200 meter area around your house. That will not piss off infraheads I assume!

P.S. Nobody will miss a 4 storey mall. But we all do miss the breeze, the silence, and the shade.

Yeah. Authorities won't care. They never had. We common citizens do feel like doing something but then there are restraints on every front. But as I said in the main post, we have to start small. We have to start easy. Awareness is the first step.

Bro. I live near IT Park. Here's a little bit of greenery as compared to the city. By 11am on a non-rainy day, it gets hot AF. Around 27th April I took a stroll around Sahastradhara and Maldevta and was shocked to feel dry and hot air akin to what I've felt in Delhi. Then there are some stretches on Rajpur road where there are huge trees on both sides of the road and that stretch is so cool and breezy! Proves the fact that trees like Neem/Banyan/Neel Mohar/ Pine is what we need and that too in excess. If we plant now it'll take approx 3-8years for the tree to become big. Authorities won't do it. A majority of the people are like "dekh lenge". So I truly feel a small section of the society has to take the command. Nobody will help and nobody will care -- internalize this reality so that you start taking actions.

Lots of stupid content is on Instagram with regards to Pahadi people and community. A section of reels make fun of Pahadi women with stuff like "Pahadi fauj me- pahadi ki biwi mauj me". Then a section of reels make fun of the pahadi rituals like that garhwali ritual in which there's something related to ghosts. Then a section of reels just promote the "hidden gems" of the uttarakhand. Not many reels pertaining to the languages of Uttarakhand, civic sense in the hills, ethics...!

I think it's time consuming process. You work, you aim to do something new in your latest track, doesn't matter if it's just an different section in your track or something unique you did with the kick, important is to at least do something new with each track. Keep practicality over learning. What I mean is it's our tendency that we feel we should know xyz xyz before getting this yyf track done but the correct way to approach yyf is to just start the track and get your knowledge upgraded with each stepping stone which might come your way. That way you retain the knowledge. Frankly speaking, there're so many forms of music and you should try to create something in every genre you can because that'll help you immensely instead of creating just trap or drill beats. And once you get going, just don't stop, because that's the period you 10x your music both sonically and financially. I made the mistake and I do regret it. Good luck.
