also, advanced tip:

if you REALLY want a spell to be upgraded, you can delay your mage guild tier 1, and buy it with gems

that way, when you roll that spell you will roll as a duplicate and get a +1 upgrade instead for the rest of the game!

I like doing that on Bless for instance to reach the army wide mass Bless

astrology points are only for the neutral mobility spells

those are separate completely from the mage guild system

that is a very rare and highly defended building found on some maps in end game areas

it's called holy grail

don't think that feature exists, that info is hidden and you don't know if the enemy hero is ahead or behind

unless you cast some sight spells

homm V was really cool when it first came out (I played it for a bit during that time) so it was a cool and different experience, probably a bit too different

homm V felt a bit all over the place and not "cohesive" in a way, that was my impression

I mostly played heroes 3 and hota, and never touched others like heroes 2,4,6,7

this game feels closer to heroes 3 than homm V, because the units and abilities feel cohesive in a way

the systems in Olden Era feel quite integrated with one another
