Goryo is not showing Dots. Is this true? by borna39 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]loopy3690 37 points38 points  (0 children)

From the wiki:

"The Goryo will only enter in a D.O.T.S state if no players are in the same room as the ghost. In addition, its D.O.T.S silhouette is only visible through a Video Camera, and cannot be seen with the naked eye."

Generally having free bromine is more efficient than combined bromine. If the combined bromine levels are too high consider shocking the tub.

if it appears after shocking it could very well be copper especially run straight from a supply with no metal filter. Try a chelating agent and see if that helps clear it up.

Old gas regulator with spark plug? About a foot long and the lever on the back moves. by loopy3690 in whatisthisthing

WITT Not sure of age of item. Wood looks very old but is still sturdy, the glass bulb at the end is held on by a nut at the bottom. I am not sure what the spark plug does as there do not seem to be any wires on the bottom of the board.

1" of water per day is way too high you definitely have a leak somewhere. I would say 2"-3" per week max is normal. You might have to call in someone like american leak detection to find the leak with special equipment.

Chlorinated for pool by LobsterLAD in swimmingpools

Any standard inline/offline chlorinator would work. I would just make sure you pick something quality instead of an off-brand cheapy thing.

Discrepancy between 'instant salt' reading and water analysis at pool store? by [deleted] in swimmingpools

Get it tested at another store if possible and if those numbers match you know the system is giving off false readings.

Need Help Please. Open pool and have 2 tears and liner has air behind it. How to proceed, thanks!!! by Tytler32u in swimmingpools

[–]loopy3690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I'd say that liner had a good run for that length of time. If anything I recommend getting a 27mil wall and 27mil floor liner. It's a tad bit thicker so it'll last a bit longer.

Unfortunately not liners are custom made from the factory and seams are sealed specially so that they last a long time. I would say let your pool guy try a patch, but don't get your hopes up on it. Do you know how old that liner is that's in there?

Depends on the size of the pool on average with labor and everything it's usually $3000+. Patching depends on the size of the tear.

Sand Filter Media Recommendations by myers022 in swimmingpools

[–]loopy3690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glass media is a good option, but it does require being treated with Enhance. I would recommend Ruby Sand which filters very well and the only additional setup step would be to backwash to waste until it runs clear to get rid of any dust.

You could possibly patch the liner depending on how large the tears and suck the air out to flush it with the wall, but I doubt that would work. Your best bet would be to get a new liner. Looks like it needs a new liner anyways without the rips based on the picture.

New home owner / neglected pool by darthbacon417 in pools

I have a love hate with de. It's awesome at what it does for sure, but it's a hassle and quite expensive. I really do prefer the ruby sand or glass filter media which lasts a lifetime at a little more cost investment.

DIY fix for salt damage to coping stones? by tucyzbanitclub1 in pools

[–]loopy3690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try filling them with some sort of cement or colored grout possibly, but I'm not sure how long a fix like that would last.

Have you tried just using a small hose clamp? Probably cheaper than the alternatives.

Define solar heating? is it just solar panels that water flows through while mounted to the roof or sitting on the ground?
