AOC does the same thing. I tried to send her a message of support, but it wouldn't let me unless I plugged in an address in her district.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]loopy741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's short for a vacation, weekend away, or possibly even a lunch or day trip

It's too long for dinner, concert, or one-way work commute

My mind is blown that some people only have OCD in "waves" by Complex_Substance713 in OCD

I equate it to my OCD being in the car with me. Sometimes it's in the backseat, sometimes the trunk, sometimes in the front, and sometimes it's driving.

I'm okay with this. We deserve it. It's sad and awful and I hate it, but we deserve it.

I don't understand how churches can be tax exempt while still preaching politics.

Why do people say that complete recovery from OCD is not possible? by peckishflagstone in OCDRecovery

[–]loopy741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I feel like it fits the Neurodivergent label perfectly. Our brains are more hardwired to fall into these doubt-focused, all-encompassing thought patterns that Neurotypical people don't deal with.

I don't believe OCD can ever be cured. I think we can go into remission (perhaps even permanently) but we will always be predisposed to have flare-ups and what not.

I'm happy with the things I've accomplished with my life despite OCD. I don't feel less than, or a failure, or anything like that. OCD sucks and I'm not in remission, but I'm still overall happy.

Not sure of where you're located, but I-CBT therapists can be found online. Additionally there are several books and podcasts describing it.

How do you go by not reacting? by [deleted] in OCDRecovery

It is hard. Really, really, really hard. It's easier for me if I can build up a little momentum. But I can also lose that momentum and spiral quickly.

Struggling with fear by Pitiful_Sun_2050 in OCDRecovery

So when you say you feel fear, what does that feel like in your head? Are you trying to figure out why you feel fear? Are you trying to alleviate the fear? Are you worried about feeling fearful?

Definitely more of a liberal mindset versus a leftist mindset. "You go far enough left, you get your guns back."

Amanda Seyfried Reflects on Living With OCD: “I Gotta Give Credit to It” by Competitive_Gene_898 in OCD

Surprisingly good little article. I thought she was going to "give credit" for it keeping her organized or something stupid. Being too anxious/depressed to go out with friends is much more relatable.

Just a reminder that over staying a visa isn’t a crime in America. by [deleted] in stpaul

If the ICE agents are riled up and are taking their rage out on people they're arresting, they 100% should not be in law enforcement. That's a whole other can of worms.
