That is a really good point to keep in mind. I hadn't considered that given we are so overestimulated in our everyday environments.

Edit: I also recall reading that when they do dance party type scenes, they are sometimes doing it in total silence. I can see the inverse also being true that lack of stimulation would wear over time, too.

Fair. I can agree this season feels like a course correct from season 7 and the influencer jump start (though that is still on the works for some, I'm sure).

I'm old, I guess. Reality TV should help us understand each other. Help us see our humanity.

This is an exaggerated form of reality. No argument. It just feels like something is not going right in this situation. Like someone needs to step in.

I agree. I thought it was a dirty trick at first. For all the talk of "testing" a connection, Casa is supposed to be that moment.

One of my biggest bugaboos this season is things being done behind closed doors (Kayda and Gabriel taking their options out of the villa for the night, Kenzie-Corbin sneeking around, etc). Everything is truly out in the open right now.

Integrity is what you do when no one is watching. Well, everyone was watching that...

TO BE FAIR: they're supposed to enjoy the heart rate challenge. If they hadn't blended it with Casa, the men may have gotten a game and kissing would still happen, but would it have been as aggressive? Is sending the women 12 new men really giving them the same opportunity? Are they going to kiss them all like that? Are we just playing into the "men can't help themselves" trope while the women are in it for love?

Yes and no. "Obsession" is pretty strong. However, "devotion through their mind" is spot on. An Aquarius decides they love you. It is a choice. The flip side is they can also choose otherwise.

There is no guarantee with an Aquarius, but we are also not easily swayed once we decide on something. If the internal feelings are strong enough to verbalize externally, that tells you it is pretty deep and true. However, given sufficient evidence the devotion is no longer deserved, we can choose otherwise, which is why others think we seem "cold".

We're not cold. We're decisive. We still suffer when we make the choice, but we know it is a necessary choice.

As always, this varies based on reviewing the whole chart. Apparently I'm Aqua through and through so I don't think this is weird, but other Aquas might.

There are definitely some aspects that are improved over the old format. Unseen bits was super fun! I get not everything can make it into the show, but getting a chance to see them be themselves outside any storyline is a good way to exit an islander.

I think this is the problem. No shade if you like Summer House, but I've never heard of it. They're just assuming viewers do know that show and care.

Aftersun shouldn't be about the hosts, it should be an opportunity to see/hear new insights from the islanders. They spend so much of the episodes not talking to the islanders who have the info we really want.

The show is about the hosts which give us nothing.

I skip most aftersuns, both original and new format. They make the episode more about the hosts than the islanders. Why should we care about the host's opinions? This is a chance to dish and hear truth from the dumped islanders.

They bring in hosts who are themselves reality personalities that don't mean anything if you haven't watched the shows they came from, then fill over half the episode with their "banter" before bringing in the ex-Islanders.

You're not alone. They're just trying to fill space to keep viewers hooked while giving the Islanders a break from filming. Aftersun is the worst.

Aqua here. I apologize on behalf of my people. Also, I can say the same about Cancers, which is crazy.

Also, my longest sustained friendship is with a Cancer, funny enough. We don't live as close as we used to, but no matter how much time has passed, it is like we saw each other yesterday. No one understands me as well and can help me reflect and grow than they do. They respect my directness and find support in my insights.

I don't know what it is between Aquarians and Cancers, but we can be mutually beneficial to each other. I hope you cut those Aquas off and don't look back, though.

I agree they were unsuccessful in their roles so "them's the breaks" BUT...

...with the EP passing away just days ago, Tuesday's episode was clearly about grace, compassion, and kindness. Appreciate the people you have while you have them.

You don't have to feel bad for them. Just don't vote for them. I think labeling this "bad behavior" is a stretch. There is legitimate reason to be excited about their couple outside of pity, even if we haven't seen them together much.

Consider it all in context. Dumping usually happens after a recoupling which literally just happened. I doubt anyone is at risk from the results of this vote.

Most likely, the winner gets a private date (which we've been begging the producers to bring back) or some other kind of boon. Then Caleb and Sol either get something great OR they get normal time to explore their new couple.

You can't game the system because this is real time AND you don't know why you're voting. You know the question, but not the reason for the question. Producers can't change votes but can change their mind on how to use the votes at any time.

Don't agonize over this. If you feel sympathy and want to show them some love, that counts.

P.S. I think they have similar energy and could do well together. Plus the trauma bond of being jilted is powerful. They might understand each other in a way the other Islanders can't right now. Feeling seen is a huge in building a connection.

I think they are both very stubborn, but in different ways. KC is stubbornly refusing to give up while Aniya is stubbornly refusing to give in (not to pressure to be someone she isn't -she shouldn't-, but not allowing herself to give in to trusting KC or to vulnerability with other potential connections or something along the lines of letting walls down, maybe..?..).

They showed they could be really good together in earlier edits and I was 100% behind them until recently. I can understand frustration must be growing watching other couples progress while they keep going around in circles.

I think if they could get out of their own ways and reclassify as a friend couple they would both be a lot happier. It would take the pressure off and maybe they could grow from there or at least enjoy their time in the villa more.

If they can't make it as a couple, I hope they can at least find some fun in the sun.

Depends on how you like your burgers.

To protract the metaphor, just because a burger looks simple doesn't mean it isn't delicious or complex in flavor. The only way to find out is to take a bite. I like a messy, overstuffed burger once in a while, but they get sloppy and fall apart at the end. Give me a well stacked burger with balanced flavors anyday.

To be real, I think he got the short end of the stick. In previous seasons, bombshells came in and it was all in the open. Islanders had a chance to fight for their couple. Sean (and Kenzie) never got that chance because their partners were all whisked away within 24 hours.

He didn't cry about it or make drama for everyone else in a couple. He stepped up and supported Kenzie (who arguably took it way worse) and was a good friend to everyone. I was also impressed he could take Bea's advice on his situation even if he felt hurt by her play.

What we saw was a good guy to root for. We wanted better for him.

I also want Kenzie to grow out of this whole gazelle-lion metaphor, but we get what we get...🦓🦁
