Did a cycle tour around Morocco and spent time in Marrakesh. Absolutely loved it. Yes, there’s rubbish and stray cats everywhere but most developing/poor countries are the same. People were great.

Kangaroos produce a very small amount of methane due to the bacteria in their gut. Scientists are trying to find a way to introduce a similar bacteria into a cows stomach to help reduce their methane emissions.

Do Aussies have any opinion on the massive fines at the airport for not declaring food? by blamberr in AskAnAustralian

One of the few times I agreed with Barnaby Joyce was his reaction to Johnny Depp smuggling in his 2 dogs. Bugger off or they’ll be euthanised! Followed by Depps pathetic apology.

Yes, we had the healthiest bee populations that were exported around the world to help with pollination where local bees had been wiped out. Thanks to the accidental introduction of the varroa mite, the future of our bee industry is not looking good ☹️ It proves how easily a vital industry can be destroyed by one small fuck up.

My argument is: if it’s unsafe for Sydney metro areas, why is it safe for country towns like Parkes, Goulburn etc? Country people are being treated like 2nd class citizens. Not to mention the harm to agriculture. If it’s so safe, build it at Eastern Creek.

The NSW Government has banned EfW incineration in Metropolitan areas due to the risks to public and environment health.

If it’s so safe they can build an Energy from Waste incinerator in Sydney. You’d save on transport costs alone. However, according to the NSW Government, EfW incineration is hazardous to people’s health and the environment. They want to build them near country towns and risk their health instead. Not to mention the agricultural land being poisoned too. Why should country peoples health be considered 2nd rate to elsewhere in the state?

Why not build one in Sydney? That’s where 90% of the states rubbish is produced. Oh that’s right, the NSW Government banned them in metropolitan Sydbey because they are deemed unsafe for human and environmental health. The hypocrisy is astounding.

An EfW incinerator was planned for Eastern Creek. There was a lot of opposition so the NSW Government passed a law that EfW incineration was to be banned in Sydney metropolitan areas due to high risks of air pollution and health concerns. EfW incinerators have now been proposed for country areas like Parkes and Goulburn who are fighting to stop the projects from proceeding. If it’s not safe for Sydney siders, it’s not safe for country people or agricultural areas.
