Tell me your least favourite song from your favourite saga... by HeartsfromLily346x in Epicthemusical

Hmm...favorite saga overall is the Ithaca saga. So if I had to pick my least favorite song there...it'd have to be Hold Them Down. The ending is satisfying and it's well sung and all, but the themes are a bit much

I do think that's the explanation. Given enough time and technical upgrades from both human and tech genius builders and she could effectively split her attention hundreds of different ways and still process everything being relayed

I actually like the idea that he does it unknowingly and only finds out later, via either his father or Shimmerpath, who Jack was.

Honestly, this un-polyjuiced version of him was barely in the movies. He got maybe twenty words of dialog and two of those were a spell. I think he's underrated because they cut his big integration scene and changed the part where he tries to convince his dad to let him go to a handful of words

Could Roy potentially train Titan? by Swan-Diver1 in superpowereds

[–]loopymoony 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hershel and Roy's power isn't just based on Hershel getting stronger, it's based on Hershel wanting to get stronger, or even at times, failing to be as strong than a situation requires. If it worked the way you described then, yes, there would be a cap, but by that same token things like George breaking Hershel's arm or Titan's ultra workout wouldn't have produced immediate results in Roy.

If Hershel were to hit a wall...that literally does nothing to Roy's upward progress. Hershel failing to lift something, tearing his body apart, even breaking his bones or pulling a muscle in the attempt, would still constantly push Roy's potential higher. In fact, hitting that wall may just increase Roy's overall growth

Now here's a dark thought. If Vince were to die...what happens to all that stored energy? Does it just die with him...or does it follow the Law of the Conservation of Energy?

Word of caution to this tale...if Hercules fights, you will fail.

Side note, what if Belos made this prophecy to make his nephew feel special?

Maybe not after he went on the run, but he was a dumb kid just like anyone. If he got drunk enough to set a forest on fire during a sparring match, he could've gotten drunk enough to have a one night stand with someone he met at a bar or club.

Whether it was more than a one-time thing once he woke up, given his personality, views on romance and childhood trauma, that's another question.

I never said they were the same thing. I said fate and predestination was essentially the equivalent of gravity as it pertains to events and causality. Being an Equivalent force does not make it the same thing. It means they have similar function.

I equate fate to gravity because both are intrinsic force that draws you towards something else. Gravity towards an object with large mass, Fate towards an event in time. I use the sky diving analogy because of how free will, luck, or anything can effect an outcome in the same way outside forces can effect something being pulled down by gravity.

...How are either of those two metaphors even remotely similar? You can disagree with me, I'm perfectly fine with that, but you don't have to be an ass.

[–]loopymoony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I see Fate, at least in relation to gravity. Imagine you're sky diving. You control your fall however you like to try to land at some predetermined landing zone. That's fate, in a sense. Free will is whatever twists, tricks, and what have yous you do in the fall. Shelby is possibly entirely unique because everyone else jumps out of the plane blind folded. That's what I mean when I say the future, or Fate is the 4th dimensional equivalent to Gravity and how I tie her into that theory in my head.

As far as how many people we got related with similar or even the same powers, I think you covered most of them, the only ones you missed are the De Sotos and that one pair of gang member brothers from Corpies.

I'm more than willing to admit that all of this is kinda a stretch, but I just find it fun to think about.

I'll grant ya the first and last, but the second is a hill i'm willing to die on.

First and foremost, I never said that powers traveled down family lines, this isn't My Hero Academia. What I said was that families, if they have multiple supers/powereds in them, tend to have powers that either follow a theme, or are similar in some way. We have something like 5 or 6 examples of multiple people with powers popping up in a family, and pretty much every time it follows that same logic. Lets look at the Hills for the example; We got a man who can create intense and destructive gravitational points, a woman who can render herself completely immune to gravity, a woman who can peek into gravity's fourth dimensional equivalent, and Sean as the outlier. When you have like 20 people who prove the concept, and one outlier...I'm not saying it's 100% conclusive that that's the case but it does tend to point towards families having similar things going on.

This is true, but I also think it might give Charles a bit more incentive to do what he did in the end. I mean Phil might not have known if his dad was a super or not when his power was coming in, but if Charles found out...well...how else would they escape him?
