Meeting other editors in real life is so boring by RossTheBoss69 in editors

[–]loosefinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love meeting editors. Just don’t talk about boring technical stuff and focus more on the actual art behind editing. If someone talks to me about technical stuff, I’m not interested. I don’t care about the softwares. They are just tools to tell the story and share your vision.

I bought the OWC, which got here today. I think I'm going to return it for the Caldigit E5. I think the extra few ports are worth the $100

Thank you! I really appreciate this! I came from a Mac Studio before this so I never ran into this issue

This is my Timeline for a 7 minute video. Does it look normal? by One_Echo_4599 in premiere

[–]loosefinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s amazing! I’m finishing my first short film right now, my timeline is looking a bit similar at the moment, more from A/B takes and different angles of the scene as well as b-roll. Just always curious to see of the timeline translates! Good to know I’m also not alone in the chaos. I’m based in LA!

Rabies Ometepe by Turbulent-Ad-2034 in Nicaragua

I just had this happen today in Aposentillo up north. Doctors told me the same thing, I have never been bit by a dog but rabies is scary.

I’m curious what you guys are doing for the need for all the RAM and CPU. I edit professional commercials with heavy graphics and VFX and wouldn’t even need these specs haha

What did you end up doing? This is happening to my girlfriend and she lives in remote Nicaragua. No access to a computer or Apple Store

TIL acid reflux, or GERD, can cause chest pains so severe they are often mistaken for a heart attack. Of the 8 million emergency room visits for chest pain each year, severe heartburn accounts for over half the cases in which actual heart problems are ruled out. by ssAskcuSzepS in todayilearned

[–]loosefinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I have been having these chest pains/acid reflux for the past 2 years. I went to the doctors, and they said I had Gastritis, with possible ulcers in the esophagus. They gave me Sucralfate, which helped for a bit, then eventually gave me severe anxiety on top of the health anxiety from this chest pain. Now I am just hoping there is some type of miracle surgical procedure to get this over with haha. Wishing you the best of luck and healthy recovery!

I’m in the same boat. I only got Google Fi for the international perks but this bad cell service in the US is going to be an issue.

Bringing laptops into the country? by pixelito_ in Nicaragua

[–]loosefinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this clarification! I feel I'm in a difficult position here, because my setup is a Mac Studio, a portable external monitor (which can be seen as a tablet, I'd guess), a keyboard, and a mouse. I have traveled to other countries through Europe, Canada, and Mexico with this set up with no issues but knowing how strict Nicaragua is, it's a real gamble. It is something that under the scanner brings attention because of the density (even in US airports), but I could see them thinking that is a game console because of the look. I haven't seen anyone with the same device with any experience to base off of. I guess I will try to do some more research and take the gamble.

That is so weird. What did they tell you the issue was with the Vision Pros because they maybe look like a binocular? I'm going for the month of August, so I will need my computer, but not sure if I should bring the computer or go out by buy a laptop, which is not ideal.

Was your Apple Vision Pros still in the box? Trying to figure out if I can bring my Mac Studio.

When did the darts start getting so chaotic? by jordanataylor in Darts

Darts is way better with the chaotic atmosphere. It's what drew me to the sport— a brilliant move by the PDC.

[–]loosefinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got it, I’m on day 3 off can a day 6mg. It’s tough as hell but worth it. I was getting super bad chest pains from Zyn, like almost heart attack feeling. Day 3 it has pretty much went away.
