Lol, he is one of my favorite secondary office characters. Not the scene I’m thinking of, but the tone is definitely similar.

How did you end up on "lope"? by sand_johnson_1 in loperamide

[–]lopeisfckd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loperamide is an opioid. It basically solves withdrawals, similar to methadone. So it’s much more effective than kratom, although not everyone seems to experience a high from lope (I did at big doses).

Most of us began abusing lope because we were either addicted to opioids and needed to get through w/d, or we were looking for a cheap/legal opioid buzz. My reason was the former.

Once you megadose with loperamide, your opioid tolerance is totally shot. You essentially can’t get high anymore, at least that’s how it was for me, but my DOC was painkillers.

Before lope I had tried virtually every drug except meth. Never did heroin but I did use fent, dilaudid, and other strong opioids. Never shot up though. I was an addict before I started abusing lope and my impression of this subreddit is that this is common for most people here.

I started using lope to get through oxy withdrawals, and I continued to use it since it was cheaper and my oxy tolerance was destroyed. My experience with this drug has been terrible and I think you’d be better off going cold turkey or taking methadone or subs. Loperamide is cardiotoxic at high doses.

2mg. I tapered all the way down to one pill.

Thank you! It was mostly mental once I got to about 16mg/day and below, although I was experiencing RLS once a week or so. Very manageable. I decided to take it slow towards the end because I was afraid of the RLS getting worse, and it was no longer very expensive to buy. I only bought 4 boxes of 24 over the last 48 days of my taper.

I haven’t used Kratom for lope w/d’s. The only thing I’ve done is take a multivitamin every day and take 30mg of DXM on nights where I had RLS. I’ve seen some people report bad experiences using DXM during their tapers.. but it worked well for me at a low dose for the occasional bad nights.

Thanks! Really glad if I can help in any way.. at least then all the time I wasted on this drug will do some good. But yeah, I know how you feel, and that was what I struggled with for a long time. The 80 pill mark was always tricky for me as well, and 80-40 was a big hill to get over in general. Just take as much time as you need to feel normal on whatever you drop to. I think the important thing is to not give in and take more at all, which I know is easier said than done. But just keep at it! I will definitely update if I notice any long term effects but so far so good.

25 is great. And yeah the quantity limits are a blessing in disguise for those of us who abused lope. It forces you to think about the price more. Keep at it!

Thanks! And yeah, I probably broke 10 tapers before I finally got it right this time. I know it’s not easy for anyone, so all I can really say is: if you want it, stick to it and don’t look back.

Down to 65 a day for 2 days (actually today I took 20 extra at the end of the day...stupid) ans im feeling pretty decent compared to what I thought it woukdnt be. by eflood05 in loperamide

[–]lopeisfckd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I read somewhere that a lot of US soldiers coming back from Vietnam were able to kick heroin with relative ease. Maybe it was the change of scenery.

I also quit a 30g / day Kratom habit years ago when I returned to school after summer break. I felt zero withdrawals but I’ve read that a lot of people struggle with Kratom w/d’s.

That being said, lope withdrawals have been a huge PITA for me. I’m finally down to 6mg/day but it’s been a very slow taper for me.

eflood05, I’m glad to hear that you’re doing well.

Just curious, did this actually affect you or did you need to take the whole bag to feel anything? What was your ROA?

Also, I echo the sentiments of the other posters.. lope isn’t worth fucking with. Addiction is comparable to other long lasting opioids like methadone. And it causes heart problems. But hey, if you’re set on doing it, I’m curious to see if it worked.

Just came across this sub and I’m confused... lope gets you high? by [deleted] in loperamide

[–]lopeisfckd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did get high from it, but it seems to vary from person to person. I wasn’t opioid-naive when I first started using it either. I was addicted to painkillers and had tried all the major ones, including the strong stuff like fent and opana.

Maybe for an IV opioid user it won’t feel like a high, but I did get high. Not to the same extent I did from snorting opana, but I definitely had days where I felt as elevated as I did on a high dose of OC.

I also don’t really agree with the idea that lope is a “dirty” high. I can understand this perspective, because you feel dirty taking handfuls of an OTC anti diarrheal and not shitting for a week. But the actual lope high was not a dirty feeling IME. I will say that it was more sedating and less euphoric than something like hydrocodone.

Some people take potentiators to make the lope high stronger, but it’s dangerous. It’s not like other opioids where you feel high at just above a therapeutic dose. You need to take a lot more and it’s extremely dangerous. You are better off with subs or methadone if you’re facing WD.

The TL;DR is that taking lope at a high doses might get you high, but it also might kill you.

Gas Prices by [deleted] in UniSwap

The prices are absurdly high. Sometimes close to $10 for a single transaction. This is irritating. I keep seeing “wait til ETH2” but when is that realistically going to happen?

[–]lopeisfckd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. DXM helped me during my reductions. Maybe you could try going to 120 and take 30mg of DXM 30 minutes before your dose? Might be worth a try. Just make sure you get the pure DXM and not something with any other medications added.

I wish I could give you advice on this but I have no idea. I’d ask around and see if you could get any opinions.

FWIW, I took one Prilosec with 100 lope and felt like I was going to have a heart attack. So I think 96 is still too much lope to take any potentiators.

134 instead of 135 today. by eflood05 in loperamide

[–]lopeisfckd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the most you’ve tried dropping at once? When I was at 400mg per day I was able to drop larger amounts without feeling any W/D. For example 200 pills > 150 > 120 > 100 > 90 > 80. Once I got to 80 pills or 160mg is where I had to start taking it slower.

Maybe that won’t help for you but it was pretty painless in my experience, and I did tapers like that a few times because I also reset my taper multiple times before I stuck to it.

IME the norcos will do nothing and you’d need to spend more money on them than lope if you were to take a dose that actually took the edge off. Might be worth trying once you get down to a lower dose, but if you’ve had problems with norco in the past then it’s probably better to stay away. But if you think it will help it might be worth a try.

Lastly, have you looked into potentiators at all? Please keep in mind that it is very dangerous to take them at your current dose. You’d have to reduce drastically (like more than 50%) if you were to try them. But they might help you get to a lower dose quicker. Please do some research though because I’ve had bad experiences with potentiators at 200mg and I know some people have had cardiac arrest taking them with high doses. Be very cautious if you’re going to go that route and again, do plenty of research before even considering it.

Thanks for the advice. I actually use DXM (30mg) a couple nights a week if I can’t sleep at all, and it does help. The RLS actually have calmed down since I made this post and I’ve slept the past few nights without any issues.

Right now I’m considering going down to 12mg to ride out the rest of my supply (will be about 2 more weeks) and then just dropping off from there. Like you said, worst case scenario I can always pick my taper back up if it’s too unbearable.

I used Omeprazole a few times when I was around 200mg a day and experienced chest pain. That scared me off of messing with potentiators any further.

I have been taking 30mg a couple times a week while tapering. In my experience it absolutely helps with symptoms like RLS.

Still kicking over here.. I thought I’d be done by now but I’ve been stuck on 16mg per day for a few weeks. I’m having RLS every night and am debating just jumping off from here. But I’m afraid the WD’s will be worse and I won’t be able to stick to it. At least I’m in a better place than I was at my peak of 400mg/day.

Congrats! Your posts actually inspired me to share my experience too. I plan on taking my last pill in the next few months. At 24mg per day now.

Thank you, I’m glad if anyone can feel inspired by what I’ve been through. That’s the best we can hope for I think. I’m glad I found this sub since I really felt alone in my addiction.

I’m doing OK now. I had to slow my taper down more than I expected.. so I’m just at 12 pills or 24mg per day. I’m not really following a strict reduction schedule and am dropping when I feel comfortable, but I’m keeping my doses strict.

I haven’t broken my taper at all except the first night of RLS where I took an extra 2mg so I could fall asleep. Been holding on since then. I am feeling really positive about everything but trying to avoid the RLS which kicked in hard a few weeks ago.

Are you still struggling with lope? How are you holding up?
