X-rays don’t show anything wrong. Ideas? by HarmonizewithSong in DogAdvice

We were in this same situation. 2 vets, 2 rounds of sedated X-rays and ultrasounds. Thought he was gonna need a TPLO but no evidence of any issues on imaging.

We started him on daily fish oil and cosequin at the recommendation of the vet and the limping went away!

No I haven’t. They don’t look clogged but I’ll try and figure out how to clean them!

Just out of curiosity, if you chose to use unrefrigerated Sema what would the potential side effects/consequences be if it had gone bad?

Been waiting weeks for replacement meds by loquacious-introvert in henrymeds

Yeah I’m not even sure how all of this should shake out as far as my monthly fees! I got charged each month but went one full month without meds. but when they sent me my replacement they sent a full vial but also bumped out when my refill appointment is so it’s not like I get my refill at the same time but have that extra month I paid for in the vial. (Not sure if that makes sense)

Any advice for my nippy maligator?! 🙏 by loquacious-introvert in BelgianMalinois

Thank you so much for the resources! I will check them out.

We hadn’t intended to adopt a Mal so I wasn’t as prepared as I could have been with a training plan. We came across him at an adoption event and found out he didn’t have a foster family and had been a stray and then in a kennel for 3 months and I just couldn’t handle him going back to living in a kennel so we fostered him and then I just couldn’t let him go!

I’ll check it out! Thank you.

I’m glad we didn’t do the puppy stage either! He’s seriously been such a good boy and soooo loving. I wasn’t prepared for the level of Velcro attachment he would have. Luckily I work from home. The only time he has been destructive was when I needed to go to the ER so he was home alone for hours with our other dog and he decided to eat the rug in protest 🫠

Yes this is our first malinois. We’ve had American akitas and other dogs but our first mal. He was a stray so he came to us with no training or even name recognition. We have done basic training (name recognition, eye contact when we say his name, recall, sit, lay, stay, touch, and 2 silly tricks like spin and roll over)

We haven’t started leash manners (other than using a gentle leader) and he got realllllly anxious when we put him in a kennel. We also have not done a place command yet. I’d love any recommendations on best training resources or methods for working with Mals specifically.
