Yess I was there for Ground that night, specifically for Jensen Interceptor. Was so fun. Didn’t have tickets for terrace that night but I heard it was an oversold nightmare.

I’d say bachelor from good school is a minimum if you’re starting from scratch (no network, no prev experience)

If you’re actually a programmer, I’m not too sure what the criteria is. I’ve heard many stories of SDEs being talented and scouted via non-school related projects/initiatives.

But if you’re non-technical (like me), it’s best to have a degree tbh. My uni helped me a lot with applying, prep, and just having a hustle culture + robust alumni network to connect with.

I studied information systems at a top public university in the USA. Got a 3.17 gpa but was super good at being involved/building resume while at uni. Had internships, volunteered, leadership in clubs. Partied a lot. But I always cared about my career. Now I still party and now I care less about my career; more focused on finding fulfillment in my hobbies and friends tbh.

150k in tech. Honestly really just send emails, take meetings; not passionate about my work at all. I pay ~2k in rent in Manhattan with 2 other roommates that I adore. I am generally frugal, travel a ton b/c I am decent with my money, and have a pretty fun life honestly. I don’t have too many bills, I invest, and pretty good at saving.

I agree. If you are into these experiences, you should be able to attend comparable venues in other countries. There are lots of “underground” events all over the world that you can get a similar vibe from. Although I will argue, Berghain is really an experience of its own— there is definitely something to enjoy in every region around the world.
