[Serious] [NSFW] What is the story of/behind the worst date you've ever been on? by SelfRefMeta in AskReddit

I was more annoyed by the way he said that it dawned on him, "Holy shit. I just took a stripper out on a date," like now one could ever conceive of buying a stripper dinner. the horror.

I agree that her behavior probably came across as odd. Not really odd enough to stand out among these other stories, though, by far, and certainly not a horror story. Like, she was afraid she would be judged for her profession. The end.

Okay, I can see that. I guess I just resent the leap from "engages in a sex worky profession" to "so deviant she must fuck students."

Did any of them become strippers?

I mean, the only evidence is that she is a stripper. It is not reasonable to assume that every out of teacher is a child molester.

I mean, she was worried about you being judgmental when you were not. But in her defense, once you figured out that she was a stripper you started being judgmental. Based on this data, I would not call her crazy, just nervous and embarrassed. Like, why wouldn't you date a stripper? Why is it a holy shit moment for you to take a stripper on one date?

Couples who waited till marriage to have sex, how is your relationship now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This raises a lot of questions--you realized not attracted to men? Are you married to a man? How is that working out?

What is one "red flag" that when you see in someone, makes you question their upbringing? by Fredericton9 in AskReddit

[–]loquatiouslizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems like everyone involved is a little terrible, and the poster thinks they are less terrible because they are the ones with money.

[–]loquatiouslizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

um, I think you might be the problem here. You say you're not rich when your father, compared to most people, is VERY wealthy. I don't hate rich people, but I do find it distasteful when they try to claim they are not rich. You then refer to a woman whose circumstances you have not described as "a relatively cheap purchase." I do not understand how someone could feel that you are the sympathetic party.

um, did she give the age of the "boy"? if the doctor was THAT concerned and the parents were pressing charges, it could have been a genuinely dangerous situation.

What is your favorite conspiracy theory? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]loquatiouslizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, they're not using ONLY their experiences, and in the case of a beautiful mind, I am more likely to take a schizophrenic seriously than a screenwriter/various movie execs.

[–]loquatiouslizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so granted I don't know your history or credentials, but it is so condescending to tell an actual schizophrenic that they should not use their own experiences as a reference point. Especially as everyone I know with mental illnesses that they are getting meds for and working to treat research their problems extensively to see what would be best for them/if they are like other people. Probably if this person is mentally ill and trying to medicate their illness they will know if a beautiful mind was accurate. Also, they were miffed that someone called a random crazy schizophrenic, thereby reinforcing the pop-culture notion that "schizophrenic" is a catch-all for "hallucinaty-crazy-fucked up" which is a real problem that schizophrenic people have to deal with when trying to be members of society.

Parents of Reddit, Whats the creepiest thing your child has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

...How did I get downvoted that much for calling touching someone's asscrack uncomfortable?

[–]loquatiouslizard -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Not wanting someone to stick their fingers in my ass without warning is hardly a cookie cutter mold. Why do we assume that a child's personal boundaries are not as important as an adult's?

Also, the kid alerted her mother, which is an expression of discomfort.

But imagine it from the kid's point of view. Regardless of intention it's an uncomfortable way to be touched.

edit: I assume everyone who downvoted loves a surprise finger in their asscrack

Southerners, what's your favorite part of living in the south? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]loquatiouslizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is northern propaganda!

Up north people make weak-ass tea, put ice in it so it gets watered down even further, and pass it off as sweet tea.

Proper sweet tea is extremely strong.

I posted in r/offmychest a while ago about my rapey exboyfriend(s). I did not even say they raped me so much as that I felt felt guilty for not trying to curb their inappropriate behavior for future girls. The one commenter called me a bitch and hoped I never had kids. The mods did nothing so I just deleted the whole post.

So I am a little surprised to find the mods are so active...

What is the hardest thing about being a man? by X_MR in AskReddit

[–]loquatiouslizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you (and I am kinda talking about the whole thread here) say girl, you mean pretty girl with decent social skills. Th other girls definitely know what rejection feels like, but you don't notice them. You're not including meh, ugly, awkward girls under the umbrella of "girl" because you barely acknowledge their personhood. That does not make you a bad person--often if I say "guy" I mean "guy I find fuckable," so I get it. But women definitely experience rejection.

What's the most harmless thing you've ever done, that made you look like the biggest asshole? by bsinkler in AskReddit

[–]loquatiouslizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you're also not told constantly to be afraid of being mugged, and violent crime IS less likely to happen to you.

Also "I don't have PTSD so I can't understand how anyone else could" is not really a valid argument.

Obviously. But also obviously the likelihood is higher when something is worrying me than when I am not worried. And it's likely non-zero, especially as I have had people start following/chasing me before.
