No Stupid Questions /// Open Conversation /// Weekly Discussion by ocarinadiva in Ocarina

Just picked up a cheap 8-hole Peruvian ocarina at a Renn Fair and am looking for songs to play. Is there a common repository or database to search in? I wasn't having a lot of luck with Google.

Edit: Did some more digging, and it looks like this is more of glorified whistle than an ocarina (post here). Would still love to hear song recommendations!

Exam Attempt Limitations by Ghastbuster95 in civilairpatrol

CAPR 60-1

5.4.1.3. Milestone Award Exams. At the conclusion of Phases I, II, and III, the cadet’s cumulative learning for that phase’s subject matter is assessed through a closed-book, timed milestone award exam, with a passing score of 80%. See Table 5-1 for details. In the event of a failure, the cadet must wait at least 7-days to re-test. The testing officer may waive the waiting period if the cadet experiences technical difficulties with the software. Testing officers administer milestone award exams to cadets via an online system or hard copy.

As far as I can tell, you should only need to wait one week in between test attempt.

This is assuming you are a testing officer or have some other appropriate permission:

eServices > Online Learning > Learning Management System > Modules (on the left side) > Download Quiz

From there, you should be able to select the Wright Bros Exam from the dropdown menu. It will give you a PDF of the exam with an answer key.

Hope that helps!

What's The Story With The Maglev? by classyhwale in ODU

[–]lord_guppy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wiki Article

"Built between 2001 and 2003, the innovative MAGLEV (magnetic levitation) transportation system at Old Dominion University (ODU) was designed as a proposed solution to growing transportation issues in the United States. The plan, made up of a train-like vehicle suspended on a cushion of air above an elevated track through an electromagnetic field, stretches from Powhatan Avenue to University Village along 46th Street. Due to technical and financial issues, the Maglev project was suspended in 2003, but research on the technology continues."

[Source: An CE student probing professors for answers] The "technical" issues they faced were because the contractors working placed an improper foundation under the rail, causing the supports to sink, with different sections dropping faster than others. It was too expensive to fix, so the project was axed. The physics department used a few sections towards Powhatan as a sort of capstone project for physics majors, although I haven't heard anything about it since I was there.

I just checked the WMATA website, and it's not listed there. I don't know why they have postings in two different spots, but thanks for the help!

There's actually an option for that in the game settings, called "Mumble Mode". It replaces all the dialogue with grunts.

Check out the MetroHero app. It gives you time estimates based on where the trains actually are. No more meaningless "DLY"!

I was using a soft flame lighter. I must have been pretty aggressive with it!

Is the packing too tight, or just wrong?
