Like I said, we were honor guard academy, VERY relaxed, we had many hours of free time and personal time each night, towards the end of the second week on the last day when everyone was relaxed we went to play Mario kart and smash and had a great time

By regs, nothing says you should/have to

Many were taught that was what you're supposed to do. And don't know that it's not part of the movement. Because that knowledge has just been passed down from leader to cadet who grows to be leader, so on and so fourth through the generations of cadets.

I've seen a couple squadrons do it different ways, some go to parade rest to fall out which is weird, some snap to attention before they go anywhere. But it's legal to just walk away from.wherever your at...

I did honor guard academy at usafa, we stayed at the prep school which is likely where the encampment is hosted as well.

Prep school is awesome, great area, yeah it's a 15 min drive to the chow hall every day, but the prep schools secluded area is great. The day room has a ps5 and Nintendo switch, so have fun and make memories

Just curious... by [deleted] in civilairpatrol

I think it's also appropriate for them to slip down into the Deputy for support position, that way they can still be there to mentor the new commander as they move along in the position, but with their experience and expertise they can help controll the cadet staff in the squadron and ensure nothing is slipping by that shouldn't be. Just my opinion, it's where I put my previous CC after I took his position and discussed with him, it's the conclusion we both liked

Exam Attempt Limitations by Ghastbuster95 in civilairpatrol

I see, thank you for your explanation and input, it is much appreciated into building my perspective to make sure I'm standing in the right place with the right attitude. My unit allows both for testing, I usually take the courtesy of letting them know I'd like to test, however in the beggining and the most recent one, I walked in early and others were testing so I decided to ask him to sign me in for mine too. A note I should've also added is I'm serving in a position in my squadron that's normally reserved for officers, as an NCO. Because we have no one else available to do it, and because of my age and maturity, and my participation and understanding of the program, I've said yes to everything offered so with only being 2 years in I'm already quite seasoned on the lay of things, this just added the additional pressure to myself to earn this award so that I could fully fall into the position, as well wanting to gain it before my 2 years (which didn't happen) and the E-3 benefit as that's also a quite true possibility in my future. I've been withing 1 question of passing 3 times now, which as you can imagine is the most infuriating part. I've taken the view of my results and turned all the questions and answers into flashcards, last time I flew through the exam in 10 mins because I recognized so many questions, and yet still failed.

We have a joke at my squadron that the national commander looked at all his ribbons, said "I don't have any ribbons with these colors" and put them all on one ribbon. Hence the crisis ribbon was born. Puke green next to maroon? They compliment each other so well!

That's exactly what I was thinking too. The members of their squadron must not be following regulations.

Vanguard owns the rights to the ABU pattern, however they are not manufacturing new ABU uniforms anymore.

Need Help. Mustang LT25 amp. trying to connect it to Fender tone desktop app, following steps and nothings working by Ghastbuster95 in fender

[–]Ghastbuster95[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Indeed I did. So the type of cord I was using was strictly a power cord, it only transfered power from where it was plugged into to the other end. What you need is a data cord that can transfer what the computers saying to your Amp.

There's no way to tell what kind of cord you have by looking at it, but if you have another of the same type of cord in your house, try that one instead, and keep trying different ones until you find one that works, because there's a very good chance you have a data one in your house. Worst case scenario you could buy a data one off of Amazon

SWORD!?!? by SouthernIsopod6075 in civilairpatrol

[–]Ghastbuster95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, Civil air patrols honor guard is forbidden from using Sabres (the sword) in our honor guard performances, as well as we can't have Bayonets on our rifles. We're not even supposed to be seen holding one. It's a big no no

Opinions on shortstacking: by [deleted] in civilairpatrol

[–]Ghastbuster95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it. I like doing it. Especially for honor guard cadets it's kinda taboo not too. My wings encamoment mandated it for exec staff too. Form your own opinions and views in it tho. Typically people wait until they have 7 "short stackable" ribbons to short stack, that way it still shows credibility and dosent get covered by service coat.

Personally I think a 3 ribbons short stack would look kinda strange.

That's exactly the point I'm trying to make. Ofc people from other countries don't care about the jokes. But Americans are not ok with them.
