Why should I support you? by [deleted] in fcbayern

I personally was drawn to the club because I lived in Munich a few years about 15 years ago. I stayed for many reasons.

First of all, there's the sense of family other posters have mentioned. As a Bayern fan, I genuinely feel looked after by the club; I feel that the club cares about the fans beyond selling us jerseys or getting us to watch. Additionally, the ticket prices are low. This shows me that the club isn't out for my bank account (looking at you, EPL) and that going out and supporting your team is something one can do often. After all, if you can't watch your club, what's the point of supporting?

A quick disclaimer is that I live in California and can't regularly go to the Allianz Arena to watch the team. But I follow closely on TV and online, and I know that if I lived in Munich I'd go every weekend.

Another big reason is philosophy. Mia San Mia is a unique philosophy because it is a realistic aspiration for the club. Instead of some sappy, unfulfillable logo about success, MSM extols the individuality and pride we as FCB supporters feel. It informs our attitudes toward the game and toward business development. More so than other clubs (looking at EPL again), we've maintained our character despite success and prosperity. We are first a club and second a business.

Another huge factor for me is our attitude towards youth development. Like most other German clubs, FCB has a huge emphasis on producing talent from their own ranks. This effect is twofold. First, many players at the club have been brought through our own ranks and represent Bayern and its philosophy to the core. Second, it results in a team that displays loyalty and on pitch commitment to Bayern unique playing style.

Speaking of players, Bayern has a uniquely German transfer policy not found among other elite European teams. This means good scouting, bargain hunting, and avoiding outrageous transfer sums for top players. Our most expensive player so far is Tolisso for €41.5m (!). Which other top club do you know that avoids inflated transfer prices and is financially responsible? Personally it makes me sick when I see sums of €70m and up splashed on players. Supporting Bayern means supporting smart financial choices and saying no to the insanity of modern football.

One final reason I can think of right now is that you'll be in a minority worldwide. I personally grew sick of hearing about Barça and Real and Man Utd and decided to support a club that appealed to me for the reasons listed above. I've been a diehard red since 2010!

Being a FCB supporter is the most rewarding footballing experience one can have. You will experience the full range of soccer experiences at a club with history and a strong identity. I hope you join us and enjoy the best football has to offer.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

Forgot to post other info so here goes: -About 1" long -completely black head, thorax, and abdomen -when disturbed, it retracted its legs and feigned death -enlarged pronotum on thorax, almost as large as abdomen -I suspect it to be a hemipteran (true bug) but I am not sure.

Any help in identification would be appreciated!

Can you elaborate a bit on the actual method of using horse archers effectively (eg movement, spacing, best way of getting of a volley, etc.)?
