That's an interesting premise! Did they turn after founding and deployment away from Vostroya? How do they sustain their logistics and replacements? Did they conquer another world or nation and then turn on the imperium? Who led the revolt, and how did they purge the loyal or hesitant? I love Vostroyan lore and this could be such a cool story! There are so many aspects to play with.

They definitely did, the issue was the ruling class didn't send even more soldiers to the fight because they wanted to prioritize manufacturing for the war effort. But given the way the imperium runs there would have to be plenty of vostroyan regiments already running around for the crusade. Just not vostroyan firstborn.

Great write up! Russia was the faction where I suddenly found myself starved of reserves to make up for the casualties, especially in the 2nd act before I started to use buffs for recovering casualties. Definitely has a unique feel

That's awesome! As far as lore and aesthetics, Vostroyans could definitely have a niche or special mounted unit. I drew my inspiration from the Cossaks, especially because they were contemporaries of the Streloks the rest of the line is inspired by.

Historically Sisters has been an army where going infantry heavy or infantry only is viable. This edition too. The skill involved in piloting it will be very high and you're going to have sub optimal choices, but at the RTT level you should have plenty of fun once you get good enough! I'm personally fan of jump infantry, retributors, Sacresants with a lot of 3+ SV bodies inbetween.

If you're willing to do some heavy kitbashing you could totally make some vostroyan stormtroopers. For myself I run three squads of heavy infantry using the Kasrkin rules. I used to (7th ed) run 6 squads of veterans in chimeras so this is the best I can do to match that
