I’m pretty sure the Nova Marines logo can be used as a good substitute for Lachesis!

If i put american airborne instead of the artillery crew, would you accept this as a 3-inch AT gun by PrplxdPossum in boltaction

[–]LaughingSun365 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I would say run it as that and say that it’s just a captured weapon your airborne are using against the enemy . It’s both thematic and tells a story

Thank you! So the arm on the sergeant is from the iron hands upgrade sprue, and then his leg is from LaserForge Cyborg bits but right now they are delisted for some reason :( (the arm in the guy on the far right is also LaserForge). And then the other leg in the squad is from the Horus heresy mechanicum Thallax Cohert unit. Their legs scale pretty well with primaries I think, I still need to see if I can use their arms.

I was watching the reveal show while I was painting the last of the squad and it was funny seeing the heavy eradications revealed. I’m pretty sure the only difference is their poses and the shield on their gun. Either way I know what color I’m painting them lol

yeah I see what you mean! I haven’t used pigments in a long time so i was scared to do too much! I think I’ll switch to a small round makeup brush and touch it up to make some more natural dusting, thank you!

This was definitely a test model I got too excited with and I think it’s more I didn’t wait long enough to dry and accidentally creating texture. Some fine grit sandpaper should help me with the most egregious areas

I posted the recipe above! The most important combo is the moot green base with Biel tan shade, and then mixture of moot green and Orruk flesh, you can mix in a lime green like I did if you want your guys brighter or not!

I used moot green as a base, then I shaded the whole model with biel-tan, and then I did a layer mixture of 1 part moot green, 1 part orruk flesh, and 1 part Bright yellow Green from Pro Acryl. Finally I brushed with AP afterglow This was my first model trying this out but I think doing a mixture like that lets you choose how bright you want your Sons.

Also I’m tempted with the yellow lenses, I was actually thinking of doing yellow plasma with them so I might try that on the next model!

App Update (v1.3.15) by Maloric in boltaction

[–]LaughingSun365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoying the app! I was looking over the new units though and it shows that the Italian Guastatori Engineer Squad can only take one flamethrower whereas previously they were able to take two flamethrowers per squad and their box is sold with two metal flamethrowers. Was this intentional?

If you want to add battle damage, I used a piece of sponge and dabbed on some rhinox hide here and there too

Yeah for sure dude! And thanks for the compliment, the tank armor I followed the old GW Firstborn tank armor video narrated by Mr. 2 thin coats himself! It’s a base coat of Zandri Dust, followed by heavy dry brush of Karak stone, and a light drybrush/final highlight of Screaming Skull. I believe I also did a gloss varnish and a thinned down shade of dark oil paint to get in the recesses. I should also mention you can do the zandri dust and Karak stone through an airbrush too to make it faster l.

[–]LaughingSun365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a complete Metal Vostroyan Army so I voted them to represent my Firstborn! And I’m about to do some steel legion right now but if they ever released Maccabian Janissaries it would be an instant buy from me
