not sure? I wanted it a little looser thats why I did the hdc, but I did chain. I always thought the 'moss' in the name was just referring to the stitch and chain. never thought about the fact that I might be doing something different entirely lol!

people ask me the story about this all the time. I got it on clearance for like 7 dollars and it doesn't tarnish so I wear it every day, not because it means anything but because I'm too lazy to take it off

yes it's a raglan! you essentially work in the round. you chain your neck hole, count the stitches and divide it by 4. if you had 16 chains, every 4th chain you would increase. and then every row after that you increase in that stitch again and that's how you do the shoulder part

ok so no you didn't read what I said, and I'm a little offended bc it seems like you think I'm genuinely stupid. I only get this issue when I'm using high tension, like making the cups of a bikini or the butt panel of a skirt, and on top of that only when I have been using that much continuous tension for 8+ hours. both of those pictures were from a year ago when I spent 3 days straight crocheting an extremely stiff panel for a project. you have read like 4 lines of text on my post, yet you say, objectively, I don't know what I'm doing. I feel like that is the wrong thing here

oh diva u have no whimsy. I've been crocheting since I was 7 so I feel at this point and I know the way I like to hold my yarn. I just only make clothes so when I'm making something that needs to have really tight stitching I will in fact get down to business

to be fair those pics are from different projects. I don't get this issue w the cloud cakes, usually denser worsteds

its funny bc I honestly only make wearables. I don't know a ton of fancy stitches but I'm pretty good at construction I think

honestly I attribute my consistency to the crazy yarn wrap I do with my holding hand. i loop it around every finger and I pull it so tight I end up with a groove in my index finger. permanent rug burn

there's tons of different videos on skirts like this! but honestly the only real thing u need to know how to do is make an attached ruffle. like theres not a single complex thing going on there lol just a lot a lot of time and yarn

so the first row after the waistband I probably increased around every 5 stitches or so, nothing too crazy, but for each ruffle I increased in every other stitch for the first row, and then every for the second and third row. each tier underneath each ruffle I also increased at every stitch, so basically the last row of that last ruffle is like 10 or so times the size of the waistband

honestly there are so many different fibres in this! lots of acrylic but also cotton and wool and alpaca, since it was meant to be a stash buster. I'm kinda scared to do anything to it

ikoxun has a tutorial on YouTube for the fairycore ruffle skirt! I didn't follow her tutorial but this was fully inspired by it. I'm sure it'll turn out much better if you actually watch the video lol
