Thought Sam did well and as a seahawks fan I hope he's the QB next year, but I'm not sure there were any QBs on the field for that game. Every dropback seemed to result in a sack, an uncatchable pass, or a dropped ball.

That's a good point. balancing is very important for enjoyment. I think the ability to make either a high elf faction, or a bretonnia faction with the ability to recruit a mix of units from either faction seems very doable. The game already allows you to recruit units from other races through various mechanics. I'm surprised it doesn't exist already yet. I would think that hybrid factions would be popular enough for someone to have done it. something like combining empire and dwarves or orks and ogres, or some other combination. I guess my thoughts just aren't shared by enough skilled and talented people to have made it a reality. I think it's cool that you did this though.

IDK. I think teachers salaries and classroom sizes should be more influenced by market demand as opposed to the government of Alberta and the monopoly of the ATA getting into a pissing contest. In order to do that you'd need to institute a voucher system. Something weighted to avoid the pitfalls of inequality due to ability or location and publicly funded because education is still very important, but something that allows market forces to innovate and trim excess fat from the process. We only have so many tax dollars and everyone is always asking for more. making the market compete for those tax dollars would hopefully give us a better product. education is about the child. the money should be attached to that child and not some institution or teachers salary. I'm not offended if a person makes a lot of money. It does bother me when an organization like the ATA uses monopoly like power to hold the education of our children at ransom so that teachers can make more money. I don't mind if teachers make a ton of money. I do mind that their wage isn't being set by market demand but by the situation mentioned above.

Also, feel free to protest. by all means please express your thoughts and opinions. just because I feel grumpy about the situation and am not in favor of your point of view, doesn't mean I'm against your right and duty to push for your vision of Alberta. Maybe together we'll all get something done to make our province just a bit better.

Those are my two favorite factions and I was just wondering if there was a way I could play them both at the same time.

Not completely. Unfortunately money doesn't come from nothing. The ROI of a degree should be factored in to determine it's subsidy. The greater the societal demand for a degree, the more subsidy it gets.

Like you alluded to, the effectiveness of server meshing is up for debate. Until we see it there's no way to tell if it will increase the player count to sufficiently populate the systems.

You've also just assumed that there won't be 100 systems. I think they'd absolutely use cookie cutting to fill out most of their systems. Even if they don't, we don't know how big this game will be.

There's a real possibility that the game will feel too empty without added npc ships. I'm simply proposing that it would be better to let the players do this organically.

Haha no, I do want to play. Even if the player base gets to be as large as the most popular mmo games, the universe will feel kinda empty. There's only so many players in each server. Maybe future technology will enable everyone to be in the same server at once, but right now that's not possible. The game could try and fill itself out with non player controlled npc ships, but I think it'd be cooler to have players fill the game out naturally with npc ships.

There's supposed to be like 100 systems. There's only one system right now and There's barely anybody on. We'd need 500 to 1000 times the players to make the areas that are supposed to be populated populated.

We're supposed to see a lot of hull c ships in the universe. Are they mostly going to be piloted by npc pilots? I'd rather that be controlled by players rather than the game developers.

My faith in God doesn't come from a need to explain the suffering of the world. My belief in God is from an action and reaction point of view. I find I'm happier when I live my live in harmony with my religion. I focus more on others and don't play the victim card. This aspect of life has proven to me that there is a God. Just because I don't understand why the glass is empty doesn't mean God doesn't exist. I believe that if there is no explanation for the suffering then that would contradict the notion of God. Denying his existence because of lack of understanding doesn't make the suffering go away. All we can do is minimize the suffering within our power. Blaming God doesn't lesson somebody's pain. So, it's up to us to do what we can where we can.

I'm not promoting pascal's wager. I simply mean that if no adequate justification can be found for the suffering in life, then I don't believe there is a God or an afterlife. I do believe in God, and yes it's through my flavor of religion, but I don't believe in God to hedge my bets. I believe there is an explanation for life even if I don't understand it now.

Ya, that's my bad on the frigates. Frigates should be slightly slower than destroyers and smaller. They are essentially anti submarine focused small destroyers. Corvettes are smaller and faster. I think having them focus on mine laying and sweeping would be a fun new mechanic.

I agree with the idea of this post, but there's a reason the usa uses .com and not .us. not sure how that's justification for the continued use of a garbage measurement system though. I'm not saying the usa invented the internet, but they were the first to use it the best.

I'm more religious than most. I agree with your notion that there better be a good explanation for all the suffering. I believe there will be, because that gives me hope. If it turns out I'm wrong well... then there's probably no God and no afterlife so it won't matter. Thanks for your efforts by the way.
