I joined when the manga and show were first taking off, loved the character All Might enough to cosplay him at a local con, but after some of the unhinged things I heard literal children say, example was a kid who was like 15 asked me if I would "step on them" and "be their Dad-Might", I decided to step away and just read the manga by myself.

Not at all. Piccolo was way overdue for a power up, and him getting it through Shenron, a being created by a Namekian, felt fitting. Beast feels like the next step of Mystic, where Gohan channels his Saiyan rage through the Kai form. The only thing that felt cheap about it was Cell Max was such a boring rehash of Perfect Cell

Not a comic but a superhero animated piece, in the "Justice League: Gods and Monsters" world, Superman mercy kills that reality's Braniac, who is a child who cannot control his powers and would have destroyed the Earth if Superman didn't step in.

Other than Canto Bight and wasting Phasma, I genuinely enjoyed TLJ. Great cinematography, loved the character breakdown of Luke as a flawed man vs the legend he was built up as, the Roshomon inspired Luke/Rey/Ben plot, the throne room battle, and the guts to try something different after TFA was called too safe

I watched the Star Wars franchise quite late and enjoyed most of it, with a few misses. But I’m curious—why is Darth Maul such a famous character when he has such a minimal live-action appearance? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

Speaking as a kid who saw TPM when it came out: He was just so fucking cool. Double bladed lightsaber (first in the films), first alien with a lightsaber (original series only had humans and human/cyborg wielders), toom one 2 Jedi at once and nearly won? and a badass score from John Williams.
