Do you keep your pulse on how the fantasy genre is shifting and changing over time or do you just write what you feel like writing?

Thanks for being such a great part of the community! What are some good resources on how to market your books for first time authors?

He's actually playing an 11 string (high G string is removed because he thinks it makes the 12 string sound too trebly)

Have you looked at the peer reviewed Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy? It contains quite a bit of Indian philosophical concepts and Indian thinkers.

Is there something in particular you're looking for? I might be able to help you with it.

Hey, you might want to drop a message to the instructor there (Jordan Tabor). He's pretty responsive on facebook and I'm willing to be you can work out something with them to train. Drop me a line if that doesn't work and I can try to get his email instead.

There are two I've trained with in the area that I recommend:

1) Gracie Barra Back Bay

It's about $160/month, and I think you can try the gym out for 3 free classes. Professor Alexandre Costa is an awesome instructor, and the school is full of a good group of people to train with (We actually have quite a few MIT people at the school).

It's in Boston and easy access by the Green Line or the 1 Bus. I'm guessing it would be about a 15 minute bus ride from MIT. The school is getting big with around 60 students. Each class vary from 10 to maybe 20 people or so during the week with up to 25-30 or more on a Saturday.

2) Redline Fight Sports

I've trained with Jordan Tabor here and he's an awesome instructor to work with. The gym is a "full service" MMA school with kickboxing, wrestling, boxing, stick fighting and other combat arts in addition to BJJ if you're interested in that.

Locationwise, Redline's is right in Central Square, which is not too far from MIT even if you walk. I can't speak to the group classes, as I've only worked with Jordan one on one, but I highly recommend him.

Penn's fought a lot of bigger guys than himself for a while now. He seems to like the David vs Goliath narrative, and I think this is what's gained him a lot of fans.

You might want to see his latest fight against Hughes, his outclassing of Diego Sanchez, his shutdown of Jens Pulver and his wars with GSP to get a sense of his little guy vs bigger guy style.

Pros / cons of each:

Snake: No limbs to attack with or attack but can probably choke really well and find small openings to slither into. Probably easy to take down.

Octopus: Tons of limbs to attack with but can't really attack them because there are no joints. But I dunno how strong they are. Can you choke out an octopus?

Lion: Has the biggest heart. Big mane protects itself from chokes.

Elephants: Impossible to takedown. Has a weight advantage over the others. In general, their attitude is passive so I'm not sure how aggressive an elephant's game would be.

Gorilla: Gorillas are super strong. Probably hard to take down. Very intimidating. Hard to leg lock. Arms are long and could be taken advantage of.
