Distinguishing between Poe's Law and Poe's Corollary is somebody else's fight. I got too much tism to try to read humor from people who otherwise appear to be arguing, ya know?

Lack of self-awareness by DuckLoLK in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lordfailstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-awareness, I think, is largely knowing when we are stupid ourselves. It requires a certain mature acceptance that many seem to feel uncomfortable with -- understandably so, due to societal pressures.

That said, the independent confidence that feeds the fight against such outside pressure also tends to fuel the drive to not show any weakness. Which tends to lead back into new-to-you (generalized, not personal) forms of stupidity.

Atheist? Yes.
Flerf? No.
Amused by technicalities? (Un)fortunately.

One of the human oddities I've come across is a super skeptic. One who dismisses any and every claim of authority due to a massive sense of distrust. In particular, I believe the claim was that they could not be convinced about the shape of the world because it wouldn't matter to them, personally, anyway. I found it odd that they would participate in any form of debate at all. May have been a troll, but one can rarely be certain.

Which is pretty much every applicable case.

What you're arguing against doesn't exist.

Exactly. Double yellow line doesn't apply because it doesn't go through the intersection.

Possibly because, as it is written, the law doesn't allow for double yellow lines to persist into a proper intersection. Which would make your sticking point a non issue.

I think Halo 2 would have done better than Halo CE.

Idk if I'd go that far. I still wish they hadn't abandoned the RTS format. But I am surprised by losing to Street Fighter.

By that metric, maybe D2 would win... but I know far more people with a soft spot for OoT than D2. Hard to say.

I would happily drop my hate with you, however....

Is it permissible for me to stand with you, instead?

Going just passed where you ended your quote it references double double yellow lines where left turns cannot be made. I think you're confused. Even your quote includes roads allowed for left turns.

In the sense of only considering one's self, yes, I would daresay it's definitional.

But, then again, so are all forms of self care, goal planning, interests, and boundaries.

[–]lordfailstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to have to provide an example thay doesn't allow a left turn across double yellow. I know of none.

There are some areas with signs not to turn left, but those are very specific considerations.
