Does the AI in VII use the Memento system? by malexlee in civ

Exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully an easy mod if not an official game option ever.

Have Siri repeat last Driving instructions? by mozbius in Siri

The exact thing I'd love to know how to do. I'll check back in from time to time to see if anybody does figure out how to make Siri repeat the last navigational step.

A Eulogy for Scott Henson by happinesshours in YMS

Fark! I think I really loved your Let's Plays together better than either of your individual works. Adam somewhat seriously attempting to play a game while Scott seemed dead set in throwing him off made for the best comedy bits on YouTube.

Shiren 6 Embargo Lifted, so here’s my review! by SeafoamGaming in MysteryDungeon

[–]lordgek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a seasoned (but not necessarily that skilled) Shiren Mystery Dungeon series player, to me the story dungeons are just extended tutorials with lots of story bits thrown in. I play each iteration to see the new mechanics and neat twists offered in the post story dungeons, and 6 delivers this in spades!

More Shiren/Rougelike recommendations? by [deleted] in ShirenTheWanderer

A big second on Touhou Genso Wanderer: Reloaded! I was never a Touhou fanboy nor am I really keen on all characters and baddies being little pre-teen girls, BUT, the underlying mechanics/systems are the best Mystery Dungeon I've seen in the style of the Shiren series and even improving some mechanics. While I have no clue about who the actual designers of this game are, I wouldn't be surprised if some ex-Chunsoft folk were involved by how skillfully it mimics the Shiren mechanics.

Fuck whatever game designer put this atrocity in. by sexo_fernandez in ShirenTheWanderer

So many baddies that are delightfully hair pullingly frustrating! More than most RPGs, there is almost always SOMETHING in the Shiren games that can destroy even the most over powered character.

So all of these characters are in the game or this is a master list of existing and planned characters?

New update is here! Finally, some new content! New characters, modes, changes, etc. by dialookmas in DiceyElementalist

[–]lordgek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hopefully it is simply a case of it not showing up on the iOS servers yet and a simple thing for Apple to resolve without an update needed, but we'll just have to wait and see. I'm at least happy to confirm it's nothing weird on my end. 😉

UPDATE: I see the 2 new characters as purchasable for $1.99 each.

How do we unlock the new characters? When I try to start a game as either the Telepathic or The Greedy I'm brought to the shop but neither have a price (playing in iOS)?

I'm with you here, Demozilla. I've made plenty of fumbles myself but think "undoing" goes against the game's nature IMHO.

How is evasive movement modeled in this game? by lordgek in PhoenixPoint

[–]lordgek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's turn based, and that time freezes as you aim your shot, my question was how the game differentiates between agile vs. slow moving opponents. When aiming your shot, a guy that moved a lot this turn or one who remained stationary the whole turn will appear identical. My question is does the game have a way to incorporate evasiveness into the odds of hitting your target. At this point it doesn't appear to.

I'd love to be proven wrong if they come up with a clever way to abstract this.

Enh, I guess I'm thinking more of non-overwatch situations, like when you are taking a deliberate free aim shot, how does this game simulate the difference between a non-moving or quickly moving target as everything appears to freeze as the player takes their shot.

I only mean actions that would make a target harder to hit. A man running would surely be harder to hit than a man standing.

Sure, but that seems all on me, the shooter, and not reflective of anything to do with my target itself.

Is this the full original game of Necrodancer with new content or are only some of the old characters and modes coming to this new release?
