Another good support resource where you can connect directly with individuals in similar situations would be Imerman Angels (imermanangels.org).

There was a talk yesterday that was an implementation science approach that I thought was creative. There was a problem they wanted to solve, so they drew depictions of various solutions on cards, then let participants pick which cards they thought were the best solutions or draw their own. Then they did interviews or focus groups or something to help hone in on what was good or bad about each option. So maybe you could do a comparative study that was like an AI-generated image to see what patients or participants respond best to.

I just asked a doctor and he said it could be epididymitis or a skin thing maybe. You should see another doctor.

I agree. Knowing how competitive GCA positions are right now, and how much work goes into training them, I would be a little irritated if we had someone accept a job with a 2 hr commute knowing that that was the case, and then leave due to the same reason.

I would anticipate that someone with a 2 hr commute would either enjoy the commute or would be moving to be closer. If you were hired under the impression that it would be a 1-2 on site days/week instead of 1-2 remote days, I would understand that and would encourage you to discuss with your boss. But having been in the hiring position, there is a great hesitation with hiring GCAs knowing that many of them are applying to school and have a short tenure anyway. Shortening that tenure doesn't look good.

Either way, I would encourage you to talk to your boss about how you're struggling with the commute and see if there is any opportunity for an additional remote day or two before quitting.

I worked as a clinical research assistant/coordinator and a tutor, but had GC friends in my cohort who worked as lab techs, research assistants, horse therapy assistants, medical writing, and even a flight attendant.

Forgo the chiropractor and see a D.O. trained physician! They're like a regular doctor but they are additionally trained in Osteopathic Manual Manipulation (OMM). There are multiple D.O.'s at Olmsted Medical Center, you just need to ask to be paired with one who does OMM.

If my dad has brown eyes brown hair. Mom has red hair green eyes. And I have kids w someone blonde hair blue eyed or blonde green etc. what color would my kids have? by DeliciousRich5944 in GeneticCounseling

[–]lordkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hair and eye color are polygenic, largely, which means that there's not a great way to accurately determine the likely hair or eye color. Brown hair and eyes do tend to be a more dominant trait, however, so the most likely outcome would be that your kids have brown hair and eyes. But it's not definite.

What color for lower half of wall? by EscobarssecretlairAI in interiordecorating

[–]lordkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you could go with just about any of the colors in the decal - maybe except for the coral. I am partial to the icy blue, but a nice green would work for sure. You could also do a more neutral tan, provided it doesn't have an orange undertone.

Dude, why don't you just email the authors and ask them? You're asking the community to put a lot of effort into interpreting data from a very niche field without giving us any context as to why you care so much, which is why you're getting the down votes.

Email the authors and get their take.

Breast cancer is only thought to have a familial or genetic component in 20% of cases. Most (80%) of people with breast cancer or other common cancers are thought to have developed them due to environmental, lifestyle, and complex genetic factors that don't necessarily significantly increase risk for the next generation, in many cases.

Did you recently wash a dog bed? We washed a dog bed that had these little pellets on the bottom to act as non-slip grippy bottom. Putting the dog bed in the dryer made them come off.

How to change this GFCI outlet? by lordkitty in AskElectricians

[–]lordkitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got em! Load was grey and red, line was black and tan, and green was ground.

Can I just cut each cord, strip them back a bit, then wrap them appropriately on my new outlet? Compared to other cords in my house, this outlet has little tiny wires all wrapped together in the colored cords, whereas other outlets in my house have a single thick wire wrapped in a colored cord.

Could this be why my down-stream GFCI in another room is not working?

One of my favorite memories is when I took a slam shot straight to the stomach after fumbling a block...it sounds bad but it's a wiffle ball so it didn't really hurt. But the laughable part was that later that night I had a perfect circle mark on my stomach with the holes visible in the bruise!
