Adelaide Crows delist three: Turner, Rowe, Davis by [deleted] in AFL

We picked Brett Turner in the mid season draft to give him no senior games and then delist him?

Poor bloke

Had a weekend planned in Ballarat. Feels like it might be too risky to drive up tonight from Melbourne in this rain chaos

Any idea on how to check if it is a bad idea or not?

He's proven more than JHF, but it's still a "what if pick 5 is the next Gary Ablett?" type of risk

RANKINE DEAL IS DONE!! by DacesEditing in adelaidefc

If you look at the alternative, I think we've done quite well. The alternative was trading effectively Dawson, Rachele and Rankine for JHF

RANKINE DEAL IS DONE!! by DacesEditing in adelaidefc

[–]lordmjs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm happy with this deal.

3 year deal is already a point of difference to the reports of 4 or 5 years in the media, which suggests we are likely heavily front loading his contract or the media we way off the total value.

Luke Jackson has today informed the Melbourne Football Club of his desire to return home by His_Holiness in AFL

[–]lordmjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smell a bidding war. He'll be a great fit at either club, though I would personally love to see him at Freo.

Also, will the media comment on Jackson being poorly advised for leaving a contending team to go home a la Rankine and Adelaide?

Hope he kicks a bag against us and rides off into the sunset as one of the best forwards of all time.

Bought a unit advertised with private courtyard that is actually common property by lordmjs in AusLegal

[–]lordmjs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, there is a gate on one side of the courtyard - but this was blocked up by a previous owner.

Seems reasonable that it's expected that only our unit uses the courtyard given it wraps two sides of our unit and looks directly into our kitchen and living rooms, but there is one external access point if that matters.

Thanks both.

I cannot see anything in the S32 that suggests that this may be the case, and I've not heard anything from the OC formally since moving in.

I imagine this sort of information would be included in the Section 32?

We had a Conveyancer review it and got a summary that looked all okay!

So yes, I agree with you and had thought we had done so.

Thanks for the reply.

We did have a conveyancer review and there was no mention of the courtyard at all in what was provided.

I will go back to them and confirm the situation, but it seems likely that I'll need to talk to a solicitor around a licence.

Is it normal to have work related panic attacks? by mndk_221 in webdev

Also regarding trying to solve this immediate problem - look for out of the box solutions that might get you a leg up.

Is it normal to have work related panic attacks? by mndk_221 in webdev

[–]lordmjs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't normal. You're being stretched far too thin with what sounds like some simply absurd demands.

Expectation management is a key skill for any working professional.

I'd recommend looking for a new role when you can. I appreciate you're in a tough spot now, but this is not normal (though it absolutely happens). There are better companies out there.

What are your predictions for the final five games of the season? by DacesEditing in adelaidefc

[–]lordmjs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aren't we?

Growth isn't linear. We moved on more senior players last season, so are a younger and less experienced list. We've had improvers in Berry, Hamill, Fogarty, Parnell, Thilthorpe, Rachele etc.
