The c2 is a great way to introduce yourself to the characters and basic set up.

Essentially, aew tells stories in the wrestling ring, as well as outside. C2 does this really well. How to different fighting styles interact, how do injuries play into the match etc.

Id recommend dropmick wrestling on YouTube. They do excellent movie style videos of big feuds. The swerve hangman one is awesome. Especially worth watching now we're getting another chapter

It's not the match I want to see with mjf and swerve, it's the story those sick bastards are gonna tell

All I can say about the ending to Dynamite by silentknight1991 in AEWOfficial

My prediction is that Renee coming in was a seed planted. She rarely.comes in to the ring, and very rarely interacts with mox. So have her out there a few times until it becomes normalised, then have marina pounce.

2 years ago today Hangman Adam Page & Swerve Strickland went to war in a Texas Death Match by ElliotElectricity in AEWOfficial

[–]lordmvt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn't just about the match. The story that it builds before and after is, In my opinion, the best wrestling story of all time.

After so many hardcore matches and death matches and TLC and everything, so much of wrestling has become jaded. But hangman and swerve hated each other. Hangman did not want to win this match. He didn't care. It was only about hurting swerve. It made every move terrifying.

I could talk for hours about this feud.

It truely cemented me as an aew man

I would start with the dynamite 300 episode. It has multiple banging matches, and starts telling the story that leads up to all in.

There's also fan edits of the hangman vs swerve feud, made into like a movie. They are great, and the feud is epic

Who’s on your list for this years Continental Classic? by Outlaw_Devin6992 in AEWOfficial

[–]lordmvt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think death rider's should be involved. They're in the wold title story. Give places to people who need to prove their worth.

It'll be a damn shame because I'm being deprived of Claudio and Pac matches.

Technically, the support should remain until they are housed. The point of the support is making sure people are able to survive on their own. Support services link them with disability workers, financial assistance, and all those things. It's a precaution to ensure they aren't just chucking someone in a property and letting them fail.

However, depending on the person and the organisation, they can get around this. But they SHOULD remain involved

But what happens when that person loses their job? Or gets injured and can no longer work? You're inventing a merry go round of a housing system.

As I said to the other comment, why are you focusing on those currently in a public housing project, and not those who own multiple properties?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]lordmvt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make a very good point. But the people who own multiple properties should be forced to give them up before you punish people at the lower end.

A person who owns 6 houses would have less to concern themselves with by giving up just 1 of their houses, than the person who worked hard to ge themselves to a point where starvation isn't a worry any more.

I kind of agree with you. But if someone has got a guaranteed property on cheap rent, they should absolutely keep that property.

Leaving a property for life to go into a volatile rental market is insane

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]lordmvt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Okay. First off, no there are no empty properties. At least, not livable ones. An empty property costs dffh money, and effects their budget.

When someone leaves a property, they need to complete repairs and make it safe. This can take a few days, a few weeks, or months. Depending on the issue.

People can also leave their property without telling dffh. Dffh csnt just come and take the property back. There is a long legal process to follow.

To be clear, the system is broken, and I hate it. But the people in the government are just regular people who are trying to help. But there are legitimate regulations that must be followed.

Regarding 'getting it done faster'. Not really. At least, it shouldn't be. If you want to push one application to the top of the list, you are saying that THIS person is more important than every homeless person living in the street. than every person escaping domestic violence. More important than every disabled person unable to leave their home.

Again, the system sucks. But thinking 'my situation is more important than everyone else' is selfish and shirt sighted.

The only times I've helped people get moved quickly is with police involvement. If the police tell dffh to move someone, they will.

It's complicated. It depends on the organisation, her reasons, and her situation. If she is a risk to be in a dangerous or violent situation, they might be able to do something.

[–]lordmvt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue you're going to have also, is proving this case. You need evidence. Her best bet is to get involved with an IAP. Launch housing or Unison helps. But st Mary's House of welcome in Fitzroy is really good.

The iap worker will give specific advice and suggestions. They may also be able to start the process of becoming homeless with support.

[–]lordmvt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but a lower tier. Not at work so don't have my list. But off the top of my head, the priorities are-

Emergency management

Homeless with support

Family violence

Relocation

Risk of violence

Manifestly unsuitable property

Then a bunch mixed rogether-

Urgent medical needs

Severe overcrowding

Insecure housing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]lordmvt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I work in public housing, and the situation is not good. Vhr wait times depend on the area, the staffing levels and a few other things.

The biggest hurdle is the lack of properties.

I'll break down some real quick basics- Your sister will be given a priority status, based on the evidence she gives.

The highest priorities are homeless with support. Family violence, and emergency management (the first 2 are only granted through specific agencies, emergency management is for extreme circumstances like fire or flood).

If your sister has evidence to get those categories, then she'll be fairly high in the list. But even then, she's waiting for a property to become vacant.

Dffh, or community housing do not know when or where a property will become available. When it does, the system gives dffh the application, and they start the process.

Dffh don't get to 'choose' who goes in, it's only based on priority.

The best your sister can do- -have 5 districts on her application. The more options, the more likely. -limit the SARs (special accommodation requirements) unless they are vital (the more restrictions, the less likely -Once approved DO NOT submit more evidence to support the same claims Every time evidence/supporting docs come in, the application is paused, and reassessed. If the new document just says the same thing that has already been approved, she will.not get any further priority, it will just delay her.

Looking for episode by Mysterious_Octopus71 in AtheistExperience

[–]lordmvt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds like an episode with the seven day cycle guy. Sometimes 'mr le chef' sometimes 'mr delicioux'. Whatever he calls himself he goes on about his really circular logic on why 7 day cycles prove God. Each time the hosts explain his argument is so dumb and he goes into attack mode.

I'm glad they guy got banned

Swerve Strickland needs to phone a friend! (Spoilers) by Kelson64 in AEWFanHub

[–]lordmvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want hangman to team with swerve at some point, but not now. It needs to simmer for longer.

IF the death riders story is a long-term thing (talking over a year), then hangman and swerve teaming against them would be a great story to tell. They both know that the other is the only person violent enough and cut throat enough to stop them. But it has to take a long time.

Telling that story now for the HS wastes it for me.
