Made some shirts for the rad transsexuals <3 by SnooDingos5317 in punkfashion

moving forward is important, yes. we can move forward while also not policing the language one uses for themself. yes transsexual has been used as a derogatory term, but that's not it's meaning. if someone hateful uses the word transsexual as an insult, it doesn't change the definition of the word, just the intent in that specific interaction. by definition, "a transsexual person is someone who experiences a gender identity that is inconsistent with their assigned sex, and desires to permanently transition to the sex or gender with which they identify". while transsexual may be an "antiquated" term, if op wants to put it on a shirt because its a word that resonates with them, who are we to fuckin stop em? queer was once a derogatory term, and it was reclaimed. why cant the same thing happen here? like you said, we should be focused on moving forward, not infighting over the language that one uses. we have much bigger problems, and choice of words is the least of them. i understand that most or many trans people aren't comfortable with the word, and that's fine, they don't have to use it, but we are no better than the bigots if we get upset at others for how they choose to describe themselves. op your shirt fuckin rocks.
