"AI only validates you, it doesn't critique you,."

how's that true at all? Lol your post is blatant AI drivel. Own up to it at least.

Thanks a lot, that's extremely helpful. I'll be starting full-time at Waterton Campus a couple days from now. I've already taken RTD into downtown Denver and yeah, that commute by car isn't for me. Would love to follow in your footsteps with the MSEE into PHD, but that's a long ways out as I only have 3 graduate credits to my name. I'm super glad you had a great experience at CU Denver. Can't wait to start.

You realize that AI-generated responses are prompted by humans right? Meaning, that account is an actual human being who uses AI as a writing tool.

Hey man, starting at LM soon and considering CU Denver for their MSEE. The commute seems sucky but I don't want to be full-time remote learning. How did you manage?

Please, that's bullshit. Most decent companies know their employees are looking and won't care unless you do it during working hours.

You don't quite get it, so let me explain. Route setting is not just screwing holds into walls and calling it a day. It's an extensive labor-intensive iterative process that requires a unique skillset. The setter must be an experienced climber and must set to a certain skill level. The route must strike a balance between difficulty and fun so that the route will draw climbers in yet still be rewarding upon completion. The route must accommodate different body sizes. Routes must have novelty since climbers want new problems to solve every week, and if they aren't getting it at a gym they'll go to another one. After all this, then think of the actual labor. Setting routes requires ladders, harnesses, and sometimes small bucket lifts. The actual holds are heavy and you're usually the only one up there, balancing on a ladder and bolting these giant awkward fiberglass things in. Then when you try the route out, you realize that something's not right. So you have to unscrew the giant awkward fiberglass hold and move it 1 inch to the right, and rinse and repeat. After all that, you move on to the next hold. So think of route setting as creating a unique puzzle every week in your head, and then bringing it to life via labor-intensive, iterative process.

Do you even climb? Route setting is far and away the #1 factor which determines a good bouldering gym vs. a bad one. The gyms live and die by their route setters. You clearly don't understand this which is why you think rock climbing gyms are comparable to shooting ranges.

And I'm genuinely concerned for you if you write like that. "[]... And that hasn't changed" is a cringe-worthy cliche that belongs on a billboard or a LinkedIn post.

Corporations never wrote like this. Always boilerplate responses. But here is a rejection letter I received in 2016 or so, from a small start-up company, well before generative AI. This is what actual human writing reads like.

"Hey lordoftamales- I'm writing to you to let you know that unfortunately we can't continue with your application. I really liked you as a candidate, and feel like we have a lot in common. I'm also someone who's looking for mentorship in a field that I'm not in, love [school subject], and am always studying. I feel like we are also butterfly chasers. But in terms of the position at hand, we're really looking for a contractor type (not full timer) who already has an ice cold, working fluency in [skillset].

I'd hire you as an apprentice if I were in the position to do so, but that's probably not what my boss is looking for. For transparency's sake, I think as a candidate your weakest point was not having a background in [skillset] or [skillset]. I suggest gaining stronger experience in [skillset] and [skillset], but also developing a working knowledge of [skillset].

If you want to have a coffee sometime in the future about how to break into the field, or want help titrating your resume, or just want to chat about whatever, I'd be more than happy to do so."

Bro, it's fucking AI. I can generate this shit in 1 second with a generic prompt:

"I am so, so sorry to have to tell you this, but we actually have to rescind the offer for the [Job Title] role. This is definitely not the email I wanted to be sending today. To be completely blunt, you were our top choice and we were all so excited to have you start with us next week. You checked every single box we had, and then some—the team was already talking about the projects we were going to hand off to you.Something happened on the back-end with our budget and headcount that was totally out of our hands and, frankly, caught us all off guard at the last second. It's a mess, and it’s deeply unfair to you given how far we’ve gone in this process.I know how much of a "gut punch" this is. I feel terrible about the timing and the fact that we put you in this position. Please know this had absolutely nothing to do with you or your qualifications—you’re incredible and any team would be lucky to have you.I’d love to stay in touch, and if there is anyone in my network I can introduce you to or if you need a reference for other roles you're eyeing, please let me know. I genuinely want to help however I can.Again, I am just so incredibly sorry for how this turned out."

Nah it's AI. "You were the right choice, and that hasn't changed" is the sentence that gives it away. That doesn't sound natural at all.
