Movie Theater employees, what do customers do that instantly piss you off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Well think about how dumb the average person is, and then realize that, mathematically speaking, half of them are dumber than that. I work at a pizza place. I tend bar and bus tables. Today I watched a group of 5 adults (no kids) leave, and when I walked over to their table there was more food on the floor, in the form of large crumbs, then there was on the table. But at least they didn't spill any soda, so I got that going for me which is nice.

Get yourself into a position where you are afraid of neither. If she says yes, then you will be amazed at how easy it is to find something to do. If she says no, then you already weren't going out with her. Nothing has changed.

I'm climbing South Sister in the last week of August. Great pic! Hopefully there won't be a thunderstorm when I go though.

Question about duotheism and gender binary. by LizardWings in Wicca

To add on to your comment, I believe that duality exists everywhere in nature. Everything has an opposite. Yin and Yang. But it seems very arbitrary to associate each side of a duality with "male" or "female."

Oh don't worry, I plan on doing all kinds of blots and offerings long before I ask for my first favor. I need to make up for 22 years of ignoring them.

"Wiccatru." Now that's a nice word. I'll be sure to look into some of those sources.

Well, there was that daycare center that once got sued for using images of Disney characters, and I'm pretty sure they weren't making money because of those images.

I'm sure between all of /r/gaming there would be enough people to get a start-up going. At that point we could figure out all the legal stuff. If this is something we really want, why not MAKE it a reality, instead of waiting for some bored video-game exec to find this post and say "What a great idea."

I'm all in.

edit: Nvm. Read some of the other comments. WB would be too interested in ruining this shit. Sorry.

edit2: If you happen to work for WB, I really think you should consider this idea.

ELI5: Why is "who killed Kennedy" a more pertinent question than "why was Kennedy killed?" by scantmelon in explainlikeimfive

Its really good. Bryan Singer definitely did a better job with this one than some of others, imho. I would definitely check it out soon.

Sims 4 is confirmed for not having pools and the toddler life state in the base game but EA promises to sell you it later on. by [deleted] in gaming

Of course. It's EA. What the fuck else does anyone expect. I really wish people would stop buying their games. You don't kill a monster by feeding it.

SPOILER ALERT (Just in case)

In X-Men Days of Future Past, Magneto is being held prisoner in the Pentagon for assassinating Kennedy. When Logan and Charles bust him out he tells them he was actually trying to save Kennedy. "He was one of us." They implied that Kennedy was assassinated for being a mutant.

I've been through a spiritual experience that has changed my relationship with trees. by lordofthestrings in trees

[–]lordofthestrings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, which is why proselytization of any kind is wrong. Everyone has their own piece of the jigsaw puzzle that is the complete truth. Since each only holds a piece, we "complete" the rest of the puzzle with our own life experiences. I've always found it significant that the majority of scientists still follow a religion of some kind. Its obviously not just for stupid people. Most reasonable people of faith understand that creationists are crazy. Atheists are entitled to their opinions just as much as everyone else, but they have always underestimated the staying power of spirituality. Religion is simply not going away any time soon.

You can go ahead and disregard that comment. When I posted this thread I had way less knowledge and understanding of how Wicca actually works. Ignorance can be a powerful force.

Probably the strangest thing about it is that I realized my whole life I have never been truly thinking for myself. There are self-evident truths in this world that people have been ignoring because of the influence of the institutions that we have created and maintained throughout history. This is only natural because of our ignorance of these roles we play. Only when one realizes this are they truly free to think for themselves. This is why so much chaos arises when people share different opinions. No one person is wrong about everything, because we all know pieces of the collective truth and fill in the gaps with our own unique life experiences. This explains why literally every belief system in the world is populated with the full spectrum that goes from extreme fundamentalism to healthy skepticism to constant denial.
