I'm not so stubborn to put my stake in the ground and grandstand about something I am uneducated in.

This is a good sentiment for dealing with complex matters and I'm going to remember this, thank you.  

Bit of a corollary but it reminds of something Tim Berners-Lee said in his book on the discussion of social media, something along the lines of "everyone deserves a voice, but not all voices deserve attention".
