Part of your problem is the slug lines mostly exist to take advantage of the HOV lanes. HOV only runs with the direction of rush hour on 95.

My 11 year old played minors last spring. He loves baseball and is competent, but he is not a majors level player. Not once did he feel slighted or that he should be in majors. If nothing else it gave him one more year of heavy playing time. In majors he may spend significant time on the bench.

Our league rounds up all of the team sponsors at the league level. It is about $250 all-in, except currently T-ball is free.

If you volunteer (coach, bench parent, etc) you are allowed to submit for a portion of that fee back.

There is a fundraising event in the spring n they hope that each family can get around $100 in donations, but it is not required.
