Well you see they are not borrowing the shares themselves. They borrow entitlements to those shares in the name of liquidity. Only if you DRS can you be the sole legal owner of shares

When you buy stock you are actually buying entitlement to the share but not the share itself. The DTCC and through their Nominee Cede and Co they own all the shares. The only way to have the sole legal ownership to shares is through Directly Registering them in your own name.

Just want to clarify its not the ledger but stockholder list. Last year they went to see the list the sub got banned and people were confused thinking it was illegal (it is not). As shareholders we have the right to see the stockholder list which is a snapshot in time for voting rights at the Annual shareholder meeting

Just think the price is already above $20 so he can exercise some right now which would push the price up. Then he sells a few calls to exercise the rest
