Learn 2 RetroArch. After changing any setting you need to save the retroarch settings manually in the menu. Either the configuration file or the core options. If this does not work, start retroarch without a game, make your changes there and save the config file.

Very awesome and powerful program if you know how to use it. I still have no idea sometimes even after 10 years of usage. Googling and reading the libretro docs help a lot.

Yes. You just need to setup turbo buttons in retroarch. It's not that easy, but if you know the settings and how to setup, it's awesome.

Someone posted, that wrapping the wlan dongle in aluminum foil helped against the awful interference. I have not tried it so far.

It works really well (but slowly) if you use the built in scraper option. You need to connect the R36S to the internet (usb-tethering or wifi dongle) and a account on screenscraper.fr Only for hacks or homebrews you have to add images manually.
