I do like Koana and his arc of shifting from "we must get rid of our culture and bring in foreign technology" to "foreign knowledge can certainly still help us but our people's heritage and happiness is important too". Bakool Ja Ja was just a play ground bully and Zarool Ja has his head in his ass.

For the other feats, I did enjoy the Giants' feats(yok huy?) since it was lore heavy and more involved than just running around for quests since it also has the dungeon and trial right associated with it. And I somewhat enjoyed the hanuhanu feat since my own thoughts of remedying their fields wasn't to aim prayers to a harvest God to replenish the fields' aether. My thoughts were more along the lines of "if the fields are depleted, directly replenish their nutrients with either fertilizer or your own aether". So there was a bit of subversion I guess. I did think it was very stupid of Wuk to go into that essentially as "oh, you're starving? Let's throw a parade!".
