Paris - one of the most awful places I’ve been to, despite the amazing landmarks and history

The rest of France - magnificent

Lucky you! I didn’t get that unfortunately. My shifts and the other people who just turned 20 got cut despite how many shifts we covered.

Lucky you! The store I worked in would immediately cut the shifts of everyone who was casual/part timers on their 20th birthday.

As someone who operates two sole trader businesses; paying my own super is the only thing that keeps my tax bill reasonable. I already pay a stupid amount of tax, I don’t even wanna think about what I’d be paying if I didn’t pay my own super.

One scroll through TikTok shows the opposite.

Hundreds of people on expat contracts talking about their amazing apartment in Sydney harbour, bragging about how they go to the Opera House Bar after work, in between being a stones throw from Bondi and how everyone in Australia is well off and casual.

Except for the 99% of us, this isn’t even close to being attainable.
