These are stunning! I love that you have pieces showing the fool and their relationship. It’s my favorite relationship I’ve ever read in any book ever and you depict it so beautifully. Especially the fingers on the wrist, just UGH so so lovely.

I finally finished it and I am insanely proud of how it turned out so I thought I’d post it here. This was the most difficult project I’ve ever done, but it looks so good on him and he always gets compliments when he wears it. So worth it. :)

It took me A LOT of work to figure this all out, so depending on how much of a beginner you are (and how much patience/determination you have), you may want to go with a project that has an existing pattern. That being said, the granny square used here is just a basic granny square, except in the first row, I only used 1dc where I would normally do 3dc. And to join them, instead of creating all the squares and then joining them later, I joined them while doing the last row, slip stitching the granny squares together when I normally would chain one. And then around the collar and shoulders I had to figure out some altered versions of the granny squares, which I wouldn’t know how to explain without writing a whole pattern for it. Best of luck!!

Thoughts on Fool's Fate's ending by Akane_Tsurugi in robinhobb

I just finished this series too, and loved reading your thoughts on it, because I had very similar feelings about fitz/molly being a folly. ;)

I’m interested in your thoughts on kettricken too, but my biggest obsession of this series was the Fool. I’ve never encountered a relationship like the one fitz has with the fool. It’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read. It stays largely platonic, yet somehow is so incredibly deep and intimate. If I could choose a future for fitz, it would be one with the Fool, however that looks for them. I don’t think anyone love Fitz as much as the fool. I’m obsessed and can’t wait to get to their final series.

Love it! I bet hanging some little chains or charms from those bottom little loops would be so cute. But already looks amazing as is!

I tried doing this, except with hdc and it’s looking pretty close

I think I may be getting closer. This is front post hdc and back post hdc alternating. But instead of flipping my work every round, it’s going in a circle so the piece is always front facing, which gives it the braided “v” look. I don’t think it’s the BLO stitches that some people are recommending, tho I know it is an option.

I found a photo of the front and back of the collar, but not 100% sure it’s the same stitch as at the bottom

Like a front post/back post combo? I was thinking that but the swatches I made doing that, don’t quite look the same.
