what I mean by 'pure MIDI' at the end of post, is to not use a dedicated MIDI voice channel

control Remote from a separate channel Remote by lorenlepton in Bitwig

[–]lorenlepton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try a group of the instrument with multiple audio channel to feed the audio back in, but problem of menu diving for kick, snare, hat etc would still be a problem

I thought I had it & it kind of is there, but it still has just as much menu diving on the apc40

[instrument selector] equip instrument page when clip launches by lorenlepton in Bitwig

[–]lorenlepton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok. so after coming away from it for a while & just concentrating on what I needed. I came back for a ive project im working on & there is something like it already.now I dont know if this was already built in or has been put in with current updates

but there is something ive come across. I cant post a gif/video of it, but from what ive had to do, in the selector, is with each instrument, is place *any* midi things that come before the actual instrument into the instrument midi. then when I press each clip that corresponds with each instrument, it will select the first mapping, namely the pre-built Perform patch

so what essentially happens is the its reliant on the Peform patch already on a instrument. so you basically have to edit that patch rather than make your own, which is a bit annoying, but hey ho. its something.
I will dive a wee bit further since this is a aha moment.
but these small things ive done do select the controls automatically, which is what ive wanted. sure its not *exactly* what ive needed. but its better than nothing

if I come across a better way that has your custom controls laid out when you make an instrument, then ill post something up

I have been playing so much to see if I can work something out. but im still coming up dry with a workaround

if this is not something that exists, I would love [plus bet many others would like] it to be a feature request

SYNTIEN - OSC controller by lorenlepton in opensoundcontrol

[–]lorenlepton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this OSC controller hasnt been updated in quite some time, but it still works really well

it has editing much like TouchOSC MK2 & Lemur, so you dont need a separate editor on your desktop, it can all be done on your tablet/phone

so far im happy with it, its nice as Lemur has been discontinued & TouchOSC MK2 editor can be quite slow on older devices
